some morning we are going to wake up to NK shelling Seoul and South Korea I am afraid. Then we will be entangled in this mess. Highly doubt NK with try to hit the US direct This guy in North Korea wants to go down in history and hitting the United States is a way for that nut job to do just that... I'm afraid you might be on to something here.

I must say that before today, I really thought this would be something that we would address as a nation in the spring of 2018, but nfalls may be right that it happens this year.

I am well aware we have the might to handle North Korea same as we could handle Iraq and Afghanistan but... we don't because war is a very big industry. War is an industry now and I see us being in conflict for the rest of my lifetime.

Sure, war is big money for some, but I think the biggest resistance in getting it over quickly is the public pressure of minimizing the civilian casualties. If more of them means fewer of us, so be it for me. It's WAR plain and simple, shock and awe or not at all.

I think before it comes to a head Kim Jong Un (The Michelin Man) will suddenly take "ill".

Look back at the writings of Nostradamus, to see how this is going to play out.

Democrats: "North Korea, you promise you won't build nukes?"
N. Korea: "Yes, give us money."
Democrats: "K."
2017: "N. Korea has nukes."
Bill Clinton .......

North Korea doesn't seem to be backing down from it's rhetoric. I'm concerned that they will do something stupid. Surely China has told them that the US isn't bluffing this time.
Why would they wait any longer for us to get more of our ducks in a row? If I were going to commit suicide by US military, I would certainly want to get one good punch in first by throwing a hail-marry of everything I had in every direction.
They have to know that it's difficult enough to shoot a bullet out of the air let alone multiple ones at the same time. Something will sneak through and cause damage somewhere.

I like what the great Donnie baker had to say about it. I had posted the link but remember it's family friendly and the links language is not so much.

My older brother is retired military officer-Air Force. Spent his last three years in the Pentagon in intel and IT work. He had a pretty high clearance.
He said that he saw many scenarios "gamed out" around North Korea...and none ended well. We could defeat them in a one on one conventional fight, but the cost would be something few living people have seen. If somebody starts using nukes or chemical weapons, or the Chinese jump in all holy hell would break loose.
IMO, the Chinese are the only ones that can stop the lunatic before he does something insane

I do not believe that NK will ever give up its nukes, no matter the consequences, so ugly it will be. It's just a matter of when.

greetings I would be very surprised if the USA allows the fat man with the funny hair cut to get a missile off the ground pointing at you. I think he needs time to get his missiles ready and the early warning systems etc i think will warn you, before it is launched a USA or British sub will target him, make no mistake they are there waiting watching and ready. That's what i reckon. regards Billy

I still think the Korean telletubby will meet an untimely end, and someone more plyable will take his place.

With the current administration, I think the commander in chief will let his generals get the job done if/when this thing starts. I don't think this one will be the "fair" wars we've seen recently.
I also don't think we'll move a muscle until one of those missile tests drops into Japan or they actually attack Guam. The only way we can remove the fat psychopath without going to war with Russia and China is if we let them strike the first blow and hope the casualties are low. We've spent 50 years getting backed into this corner and we can't take the first step out of it without starting a world war at this point.
My 2 cents anyway.

I heard Mark Levin (this dude is awesome if you enjoy political talk from a conservative perspective), say we should go with the Reagan approach, and stage nukes in South Korea and Japan, right on North Koreas doorstep.
