It is interesting if you are not playing with a full deck.

It is interesting if you are not playing with a full deck. LOL, well I have been called crazy before. I absolutely do not expect very many to understand or believe it. We were all forewarned that there will many scoffers in this time.

I've been reading a lot lately, and time and time again God has sent warnings to people to repent before he unleashed his judgement; however, they did not listen. They actually wanted to kill the messenger.
The fact that this eclipse crosses us on a biblical holiday "A call to repentance" makes my ears perk a bit. Especially being a precursor to the great wonder in the heavens that has never been and will never be again.
Nineveh did repent. It just happen that a full solar eclipse passed over them prior to Jonah showing up.
I don't think anyone expects any nation today to repent, but the call is still there. It's more for the individual. Narrow is the way and few will enter in. He keeps reaching out to the few, but a day will come when he will no long extend the offer.

I barely even consider things like that because it instantly looks like hocum to me or worse an attempt by Satan and his deceivers to distract and mislead. Even if all they do is occupy your time, it's time I owe to God and what ever his mission is for me, stolen, for Satan's purpose. The end will come as a thief in the night. No man knows the time or the hour. This tells me if man is saying the end is near, it is not. Even if it is, how does that concern me? What would we do different if we knew God's plan? If different is what He wanted us to do, then He will speak plainly. I'm too dumb to figure out puzzles and too belligerent to take my commands from people like wrote that article. God knows ME better than I know myself. Yep, He will be blunt as a brick to the head if HE wants my direction changed. It is one of the things I pray for when I pray, that and the strength and determination to achieve what ever goal He sets for me. Speak plainly, give me the ability, and the strength to endure, this is what I ask in my prayers.

These things may not be for you to know or think much about. Jesus did tell us to watch for his return so that we will not be caught unaware, BUT if one is not made to be a watcher, one will have no desire to watch. His return is a mute point if one is always ready. I would like you to think of something though. When we were in the third grade, we didn't have a clue about algebra and couldn't care less about it. In the same way, at different spiritual maturity levels, we will not understand or possibly even desire to entertain some spiritual things. It was impossible for our mental capacities to conceive algebra ...at least it was for this big dummy. In NO way am I questioning one's spiritual maturity if they do not understand or desire to understand the topic of eschatology. It could be, but it also could be an indication of one's spiritual gift and focus as you allude to. We should be focused on what God has given us to do as you mention. As you also have said that we will know what he wants us to do, and if he wants to change that direction, he most certainly will. Your comments are very honest, valuable and deeply thought.

I had another thought about one's lifestyle. If here in America living a peaceful sustaining life like me in retirement, one might not be too anxious for the Lord's return, or have a desire to look for it. There is a crown for people who anxiously watch for his return; it's called the Crown of Righteous ...really there's a reward for it. Of course, we lay them all at the feet of Jesus where they belong. I won't throw any rocks for not watching for it, but if it's in us to do it, we must.
On the other hand, people living in heavily persecuted areas of the world where they witness fellow Christians being burned alive, and their families and loves ones executed before their eyes ... I bet they are anxiously awaiting the Lord's return. This IS coming to America shortly after the current believers are taken.
This does pose the question, "Why are we not watching?" Just like all the other things I speak of, we must honestly examine our hearts. We can hide the truth from ourselves and it is often the path of least resistance for us. Water flows this way, deer travel it, so why wouldn't we naturally deceive ourselves if it causes us less pain. No worries might just be a spiritual condition on a negative side, or not.

We didn't have a clue about algebra and didn't care about it. But ask a 3rd grader and he's dead sure grampa is clueless and mom never heard of a fidget spinner. By the time I was 20 I knew it all, and I'd tell ya so, endlessly. Fact is now the more I learn, the less I'm sure about most things. I'm kinda suspicious the things I have left I'm sure about may be a trick.

He says his thoughts are above ours and we cannot conceive them. Oh Jack, as you know, when I was a young man, I really thought that I had an answer for any biblical question. Well, not an answer, but the right one. LOL Now, as people read my post, I probably question more things than I ever knew. The thing now is that I'm not afraid to say, "I don't know." LOL I really don't. I may have lots of thoughts on it, and can see several different sides, but what God thinks about it??? I knew that you were serious about your suntan lotion question, and I took it seriously, but all I could really do is speculate. I've been reading Isiah. Oh, it is an amazing book. I hadn't read it in a very long time. I know that I understand things that I read now that I would not have last year. I like to grow, but sometimes it seem just my waistline is growing.

It sounds like a message from the world to the world. These are temporal things of which I give little thought. What is a blink of an eye in a day, or human life to eternity? I mostly focus on the eternal things that prophet me forever, not for today. However, I do need to start working on my project truck.

If you get a blistering sun burn it will feel like forever and this is rock solid undeniable fact that sunscreen will prevent it. If you get skin cancer that just might be forever, for real.

I really don't understand how cancer is forever. No cancer where I'm going. I'm certainly not saying don't wear it or sunglasses or that we should or shouldn't smoke, drink or anything else, just that all these things are temporary. This life is but a blink of an eye in eternity. I'm just more concerned about the things eternal like Jesus told us. We might get there a lot sooner by doing or not doing some things, but it's all still just for a short time. Jesus said to not be concerned about what to eat, drink or wear. I'm certainly more concerned about these than sunscreen or a lot of things. If I'm on the beach, I wear sunscreen.
