I just completed my requirements for the Indiana resident lifetime concealed carry permit. I checked the reciprocity map and it says it's good in Ohio. Is that something new? I didn't think our licenses were recognized there.

I think something must have changed sometime or another because I didn't think they accepted them either but all the sites I've been to about it says they do,along with Michigan and Kentucky, but of course not in the liberal State of Illinois. Unless it's changed too.

Michigan and Kentucky have accepted them for a good while now. I know they did when I had my 4 year permit several years ago. This is the first time I have seen Ohio listed.

Ohio changed a few years. Illinois is a different story. You still have to have Firearm Owner Identification (FOID) card to pretty much look at a firearm within its borders.

I know that ODNR and IDNR have worked together on season dates etc. for a very long time. Before my time as a hunter.

Ohio changed a year or two ago. Please read their CC laws. There is specific things you must do during police interaction to stay out of trouble. Thanks for the info. I'll try to find out what the rules are. I've asked several different policemen about what to do if I get pulled over. I've got 2 completely different answers. A state trooper told me not to say anything about having my license or a hand gun unless it was in the glove box and he asked for my registration. He said if I have a permit I'm more than likely a law abiding citizen. If he knows I have a gun and permit he will have to run the information and that will waste his and my time. I think just to be on the safe side I'm going to tell them right away.

I didn't realize they changed either, but I thought Ohio was one of them you had to declare you had a weapon if you were pulled over.

Ohio changed a handful of years back and they are indeed a must inform State. IL will allow you to carry in your car with an IN LTCH but once you get out of it no carry and you must secure it & it must not be visible. Ref: 430 ILCS 66/40
