OMG!!!!!!!! Here we go again. The LaPorte county commisioners proposed a noise ordinance for the county, that will result in a fine, if a sound can be heard more than 25ft from your property line. It also gives the police the right to enter and search your residence with just a complaint, not a search warant. This got proposed, then yanked from Wednesdays meeting due to public outcry. There is a public get-together Wednesday at the courthouse. This is a continuation of the last proposal to ban firing guns on your own property.

I'd make them BEG to take that law off the books.
Just like more than one of my bosses over the years lived to learn, "The dumber your **** idea is the FASTER I'll do it." For some reason it seems the "smarter" a boss is coming in, the slower he learned.

Id like to read that proposal on entry. Especially since that sounds like a constitutional issue which state law cannot supercede

It appears to be one person leaning on the commissioners because he/she is upset with their neighbors. Sometimes my farts could be heard for more than 25 feet.........that is according to my wife.

Does that include traffic, mowers and planes, they can all be heard further than 25 feet???

Yeah, it leaves a lot of gray areas. The local public radio program we listen to everyday asked the same about everyday noise. This is being buried in with other code enforcement laws, undubtedly to hide and sneak it thru. We citizen really need to stand up and vote these council members out.

Hee hee....I'd turn them in circles with that one and all the fun would be on their dime at the end of the day.
Sit outside of the mayor's house with a DB meter and call the law each and every time he pulled out of his driveway. Make them enforce it or get rid of it.
If they tried the no warrant search....well, that wouldn't end well for them. At all.

I can hear my neighbor talking on her cell phone sitting on her deck 150 feet away.... and my hearing is not all that good.

AC running. Garage door opening. Front door deadbolt. 25' off the line of a typical in town lot size and a person can hear a bunch.
Hell, with the bathroom window open you could hear a toilet flush.
How do people of such limited intelligence make it to adulthood?

Just a scary situation having 3 people, so blind. be in control of our daily lives. Very glad the public is paying attention and getting the word out to stand up to this.
A few years ago, these same kinds of people on the council, got the outdoor wood boilers regulated. You have to rgister them with the health dept due to the hazard they cause by burning wood. One thing after the other.

Run as fast as you can out of LaPorte county. Not always a viable option! Why run from these clowns and let them win? I am going to stand and fight. Plus, I wont pull my kid out of our school district, it is one of the better ones around. All rural farm country, hard working folks, good values. Not what I grew up with, so we will endure whatever LaPorte throws at us.

That is a very scaled back version of what has been broadcast over the local airways. This Dr Kora is leading the charge to suppress the citizens rights and voice. He needs voted out.

too close to Chicago lol. I spent a couple of weekends around Union Mills and thought this is nice, until I heard what property values are and how hard it is to find private ground, meh.
