I only know of only one "Booner" taken within a mile of where I hunt.. we've killed plenty of 140s, 150s, and a couple 160s and you know what? That is PLENTY good enough for us. In all my years of deer hunting I think I have seen three bucks on the hoof that I'm pretty sure would qualify.. two were in a refuge .. I pay little to no attention to these Booner reports.. Not sure I've seen one yet. I have seen a couple bucks much larger than my biggest (159" gross), but I couldn't begin to guess what they'd net.
A co-worker killed a buck in 2010 that grossed 199 and netted low 180s, by far the biggest buck I've laid hands on.
I doubt I ever kill one, since I'm perfectly happy taking a big-bodied 130-140" deer.

West Virginia made the first list. Those come from the 4 bowhunting only counties. Good luck anywhere else in WV lol
A 130 Class anywhere else is a very good deer in WV

Pike Illinois got destroyed in the long run by clients and leases that started taking any 120 or 130. Boom no more hot spot. Seems like it moved to east central after that. Really what has saved where I hunt in Parke is actually our firearms seasons deterring outsiders, funny. Everyone around me doesn't shoot very many little ones and all control a lot of ground.

I was reading a post from another site and this was pointed out.... Indiana was ranked fourth on the list (here is the text).... So according to the article, Indiana doesn't make the all-time top 10 list, but if you look @ the table on the page about half way down you'll see this... And there is Indiana ranked @ number 10...all time... I noticed that also. I'm not sure why anyone would use an article like this to pick a place to shoot a booner. The chances in any of the states are still slim. If someone is going somewhere solely to shoot a booner they are most likely going to pay someone for it and the chances are probably about the same in any of these states. As Woody posted a bit ago.... I couldn't have said it better and was my point of posting the discrepancy in the article...

Kill off the up and comers and the number of Booners drop drastically..

It's what happens when outfitters are leasing up all the land There hunting deer every day of the season and killing 10 times the deer We as private landowners do ! They have to can't charge all those prices and The expect people not to spot any thing Our resources are not a unlimited supply Managed for private use ,not commercial ventures Comercilazation of our resources is destroying our deer and our Catfish right under our noses and very few see it Wake up INDIANA
