I've been looking for a trail camera company that stands behind its product and has good customer support. I've read bad things about Moultrie, Cuddeback refurb program is expensive, I am somewhat intrigued by Reconix. Your thoughts? Who has the best support/repair?

Very few companies do full repair services...especially if outside a warranty time frame. Many find it cheaper to just send back a brand new cam as a replacement than fix the problem in one if not something obvious. Now those companies will stockpile and "refurb" the returned ones and sometimes sell off as such but not all.
Every trail camera company has decent to above average CS if the hunter does everything they're suppose to do. Registering it for warranty, keeping proof of purchase and when returning contacts company first to see if any RA number is needed...do that and if still under the warranty you will be taken care of.
I've primarily used Covert (always had good CS experiences), USA Cams (testing CS now) and just yesterday bought a Radix camera. Primos back in the day treated us great as well.

I like Browning, and this is what I buy. I usually just toss them when they break. I have ordered through Amazon and they have replaced them before.
However, I remember looking at a trail camera once that was expensive, like around $250, and they talked like they had good service and replacement at half price for a long time, maybe as long as they were in business. I don't remember, but look up "best trail camera" and I'm sure they'll pop up somewhere with a video of their business.

I've heard solid things of Brownings new cams last couple years (5 years+ back I despised them) from the team at The Break I know a few of their staffers. One was reluctant to switch to Browning for the show due to past issues...but has loved the 2015 and newer models. I added a Radix and will share thoughts here with everyone on the brand new offering.

My only browning cams were bought on sale in late 2015 for $70ish a piece? They were limited run cameras and hands down the best compared to moultrie and stealth cams of similar price.
No experience with the higher end of either company because I hunt public land and $70-80 cameras is what I felt comfortably having stolen.

Definitely for the money they are pushing the Mpe6 by Covert for my opinion of best for bucks (sub $90).

I'm currently running 2 Moultrie camears, an A-5 and an A-20. I've had the A-5 for 3 years now and it is running great. I picked up the A-20 last year and so far has been great as well. I like the A-20 because it uses AA's. I'm under $100 spent for both, and they take reasonable pictures of the deer on my property. Not sure why they get a bad rap, but I'm not expecting them to take 4k video and pictures. That's my two cents!

I buy them cheap and on sale. For $30-40 apiece, if they break, I just throw them away and buy a new one. I can usually get 3-4 years out of one. Right now I'm running 2 small StealthCams.
Also, I've never had one stolen, but I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I had a $500 camera sitting in the woods somewhere ripe for the taking.

I have Moultrie cams out, batteries last about a year with 150 pictures every couple weeks and I can upgrade the software off their website. Think I spent maybe 40-50 bucks each.

I run 13 recoynx. People can say what they want about them being to expensive but I have had some for over 6 years and only one has had a problem. Sent it back and they actually work on them instead of grabbing one off the shelf and replacing it. Something went wrong internally and was around 60 bucks to fix. Most cheap cameras I have bought over the years last about a year maybe two before they are junk. Have some of the new cuddebacks also that work pretty good.

However I'll break the mold I guess for your experience on "cheap cams". I have many Coverts entering year 5, a few have maybe had 2 months off out of the last 60 months. Mpe5, they don't even make it anymore.

I like saving money but buying used cameras online is risky. I think my best bet is to buy from a big retailer like Cabelas or Walmart buy their warranty for $20 and if it breaks try to return it

Waiting to see the reviews on the new cudde system. If they work good be handy way of just going to one camera to check all the cameras that are in the area.

I returned my cuddyback. It took terrible night photos. Maybe they've improved them.
I might need a couple more cameras this year, but will probably go cheap.

I'm the cheapest. So old school. Bought a cheap one two years ago and it stopped working after 2 years. It never worked very well. Now I don't have any. A few of my neighbors are retired and they are my eye's on the deer. They watch all the time and let me know what deer and when. They are now good on what is a big rack verses a small rack. They let me know how many fawns and with what doe. It seems they know each deer individually. I used to know, but not as much these days.

In my humble opinion, the best support is NO support...needed. I don't have the desire or time to fool with some customer service rep that is reading canned responses and providing no help. I'll buy "throw aways" when my 2011 Bushnell from Wal-Mart either dies or gets stolen. The batteries last forever, it takes great photos in both day and night, and anyone can operate it.

I've bought three trail cams and probably have $110 in all 3. One was stolen and I was furious about someone trespassing and stealing my equipment, but glad it wasn't a real pricey one that was taken.

nothing like the reconyx. The best but you pay for it. They are made to last years...

I love my Browning Strike Force. Clear images on pictures and video plus the videos deliver good sound as well
