I could do all that work if I had an escalator too, I hate walking up and down stairs...

The 8 tons of gravel and 8 tons of topsoil is in place and finished. Patio extended is dug out. Now it is level out to the oak tree. Concrete next.

How many yards of concrete do you figure? I did the rough calculations last night. Not easy since I have a triangle with two curves, but I it came out to 8.25 cu yds. Most concrete trucks are either 9 or 10 cu yds, so I will get a full one and put any extra as fill at the end of the wall and around the back. Looking at either the 8th or 22nd. Need to see who (sons/brothers and friends) are available to help.

My son Sam works for Holmes Construction on a concrete crew, so I hope to get him and a few of his team on a Saturday or maybe a Sunday. The 15th is out. That's my brothers farm party.

Well, we had 200+ tons of fill dirt dumped in the food plot area and most of it moved to below the wall. Making a nice path. Tomorrow getting 50 tons more and that should do it. Next I will put a couple inches of topsoil over it. Maybe next Saturday. I will post pictures tomorrow after work. Ran out of light tonight. Might have to put the food plot on hold until 2018.

I'm adding 2-4 ft high x 8 ft wide of dirt below the wall to make a semi level path. I had clover on the slope, but buried some of it. The bob cat had a 72" bucket as a reference to its tracks. An old kid (56 old) playing in the dirt. I'm not sure if the black walnut is going to make it. I will re-build around the trunk. I've added a few feet on top of the old slope the last two years. Plus we dug up a 4" root digging out the wall path.

Had a meeting today with concrete owner, it's getting ripped out sometime next week. Water flowed to the house because the area in-front of the drain is high. The joint cut lines are in the wrong place, not straight and two far apart at places. Cuts did not match the existing patio. I feel sorry for the workers. The bad part, the joint lines was discussed the day before. The design was not followed. I don't think this was the 1st time with issues.

That's too bad. Hope they get it right the next time. I created a drawing for them and going to print it out extra large. The owner is a good life long friend and we will both be there on the next one. It is a bummer. I have 9 yards of topsoil, stones for fire pit. 5 yards of chipped cobble stone and straw being delivered this Saturday. I was hoping to finish the fire pit and grading this weekend. All I know it better get done soon. Deer season is right around the corner. Need time to get ready.
