This little guy was standing next to the driveway at work Thursday morning. He was still a little wet and had very wobbly legs. It looked like it was only a couple of hours old. It walked right up to my friend who took this picture.

Cool pics ! Saw a bachelor group of five bucks over the weekend, all had nice "stubby" racks starting to grow.

I've never seen one that small. I think they keep then hidden in the tall grass by me. I stay out of there, but I'd get a kick out of seeing one on camera.

Each year a couple fawns are born in my yard (3 acres). Once born behind my garage.

Seen a bachelor group of 6 bucks this morning on my way home. A gal I work with was excitedly telling me about a fawn they seen Sunday. Said it couldn't hardly walk and only looked a few hours old

I think I'd run from one thinking mom would want to give me beating ...I still have scars from momma beatings.

I think I'd run from one thinking mom would want to give me beating ...I still have scars from momma beatings. There was one in the middle of the road just laying down last spring. I got out and just tried to make it get into the woods and not get hit. That little thing started bawling and I heard momma running through the woods so I got right back in my vehicle. She eventually came and got it and they went on up the hill, but I wasn't gonna take no momma beating.

On the positive all the rain will slow down Hay mowing so the fawns have time to grow a little more and get up and run instead of getting mown over

Good comment throback, I was going to mention be careful mowing. I've mowed a fawn before and it's not a good feeling.

I get a sick feeling when I run over a mouse. I'd kill one in a trap ...happily, but they usually just get hurt with my mower, and I don't like to see anything suffer.

Stand most of the time to get a better view out in front of disc mower. Have not hit very many through the year's but have got a couple. One year was bush hogging a imperial whitetail clover field in full bloom... Just happened to look down and there laid 2 fawns directly under tractor. WHEW. Talk about close call... All those white clover heads was a miracle I just happened to look down. Got another tractor this spring a JD 3010 which sits up quite abit higher so should be able to at least sit while mowing this year. Hope to cut some Sunday to bale Wed and Thursday, only 150 bales done and looking to do 5000 square this season. QUIT RAINING FOR A FEW DAYS PLEASE.

Did some bushhogging tonight and came across 3 newly born fawns. 2 were just feet apart along a hayfield and the other was in middle of one of my clover plots.

Mowing hay this morning and witnessed our Chow get her butt kicked by a mature doe. Chow musta got to close to her fawn and old mother doe was having no part of it. I bet she hit our dog at least a dozen times and twice knocked her off her feet. Chased her all the way back to our house. Lol

Checked cam today, no little ones but I know they're out there. Do have some velvety horns sprouting though.

I didn't have as many pics as I was getting but this is my first spring at this property with cams out and I haven't put any food out since beginning of April. I'm sure me not putting food out and where the babies are at has something to do with it.

It's like having guests over that you want to feed. I feed them to keep them from eating as much of my plot before it matures. I feed them to see what is in my area. It's fun to watch them all year, and then it's really exciting when a new one shows up. Wes, I really think I would feed them even if I didn't hunt them ...just like most birds. Some I want to eat. Yeah, even though I was feeding them the babies stayed away for months. I didn't think I had any, but eventually saw two.
