Wow!!!! $390,000,000 seems like a lot of money for a failed company. Was in the Ft Wayne store a week ago and the sales force out numbered the customers. When asked about if I found everything OK I replied to the clerk they did not have any reloading stuff for .38 or .357 Mag. That they had stuff for 9's and .223's etc but other than that very little selection. She proceeded to tell me that my .357 took .308 bullets. They do have a lot of guns though.

Best gun display and highest priced in Evansville. They once told me they price match other stores. I haven't tried that yet.

Glad to see it was sold and not closed doors forever. Now, lets see how many stay open. Hopefully, all of them and pricing matches the industry. I always thought they were a little pricey.

Does seem to be a high bid....of course I reckon that depends on how many locations and such.

They're only keeping 17 stores and will auction off the other 100+ at a later date.

bigdeerblog.com/?p=4742Earlier this year Gander Mountain, which had been outfitting hunters for more than 50 years, filed for bankruptcy and was placed up for auction. On April 28, Camping World, the nation’s largest RV retailer, was chosen as the winning bidder ($37.8 million is a lot of money to you and me, but seems cheap for a brand like Gander). The big question: What does this mean for the 126 Gander stores built across the country? Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis said bluntly, “All stores are liquidating, and the inventory in there is going to go away.” Some stores will likely close for good, but “my goal is to keep open at least 70 and keep them operating as Gander Mountain. I will not be picking stores that do not have a clear path to profitability.” Lemonis says that moving forward, Camping World intends to “refine the inventory selection,” which many in the outdoor industry take to mean substantially less selling of firearms and shooting/hunting gear. Lemonis said one of Gander’s problems was that the retailer was a victim of its own misguided approach to inventory. “At the end of the day, this company failed because it made some giant inventory mistakes and just bought too much,” he said. “Not the wrong stuff, but just too much. And it didn’t necessarily understand how to operate in a low-cost environment.” Gander Mountain stores will continue to honor gift cards until May 17, 2017. If you have a card, hurry to your local Gander and use it. After that, Gander Mountain gift cards will no longer be honored in store or online. The list of Gander stores that will close (or survive) remains fluid, but here’s the latest. This is sad news for me, because I always enjoyed getting the Gander Mountain catalog, and in recent years visiting Gander stores. How about you? Who shopped at Gander and will miss it?

I bought a gun at the Fort Wayne Gander Mtn store last black Friday (doorbuster special). There weren't all that many customers in the store at the time I went in (it was just after they opened), but due to their ineptness at the gun counter in processing my paperwork among other things, it took them over an hour to sell me 1 gun and get me out the door with it. And that was after they finished up with the customer in front of me.
I took my complaint to corporate but got crickets for my trouble - now I know why. They probably knew last November they were going under and didn't care about customer satisfaction.

I hope they keep Greenwood Gander open and wholesale everything there, I could use a few things..

Their wholesale may bring prices down to the regular prices at other places.

It's kinda sad. Their sale prices at Greenfield and the store in Dayton are their normal prices, they raised the price so the discounted is actually the standard MSRP on all their products discounted...

I just stopped by the Gander Mountain in Greenwood. The store looks to be clearing out abit more. I asked 3 different employees (not management) if the store was actually closing and I got 2 answers. Two employees said yes they are absolutely closing and will be out of business by the end of August. Another employee said they were liquidating but the store will be rebranded under the name Gander Outdoors! Anybody heard other news?

I gave up on trying to see if they are going clearance prices.
