I like the like button but also wish there was a dislike button.

Do we have a dislike button? I can hear the feelings getting hurt already .....

I like the like button but also wish there was a dislike button. Believe it or not ProBoards used to have something like that. Members would get to build up something that was similar to likes and also they could some taken away .. A member could end up with very negative numbers. I didn't care for it so I never had it here..

I don't pay any attention to the total number of likes I get and wouldn't worry if I wound up with negative likes,it was just a thought because there are times I don't agree with what someone says and instead of posting something that might start an argument I just let it go buy. It would be nice to put a dislike but it's no big deal.

Keep the like, I use it when I'm not part of a conversation but approve of a comment.

I actually was just thinking about the "like" button yesterday. I have meant to start using it for some time, but have only clicked it once or twice. It seems to be a good idea and I do favor keeping it. Hopefully I'll learn to use it more frequently if it remains available.

I appreciate the "likes" I get but I still think it's a post killer. It's discouraging to write a post, upload pics, and then get no replies.
Part of the problem, I'm guessing, is a lot of users are visiting while on a phone, which makes replies labor-intensive.
I think forums are probably on their way out, sadly.

Without a doubt. Facebook replaced many. You go to one site and get feeds from all the group's you want. Just like the gander mountain thread...you either adapt or fizzle.
This forum is the only one that I come back to any more. We have a nitch that has survived much longer than most of the web forums I used to frequent. Keep it up.
I like using the thumbs up button. Very efficient.
