Buddy's son connected with a nice Tom yesterday at 11:35. With my nephew Callswell in their blind now trying to stay awake until toms get lonely again.

Got my 14 year old his bird last night about 6:15 after a soggy morning and quick trip to Louisville Bass pro. Took a buddies 7 year old out this morning and after telling them to ditch the blind we connected at 8:15 am with his. Thank god for dumb two year old birds. Had two more well on their way in. In two days heard no less than 20 different gobblers on one farm. Had a great hatch and Wednesday is looking good.

No turkeys but we have had deer. Only got eye balls on one of them but that doe looked like it was really carrying weight for this time of year. Really think already

Buddies bird had two pellets in it at 8 yards. He's shooting a Carlson 575 shooting heavyweight 7's. At that range you're throwing a baseball at their head

We ended up seeing two hens and three toms in tow. They went by at 100+yd. But we had a great time with all the gobbling, a deer, woodpeckers, and squirrels. My boy stayed with it surprisingly, lol. I actually had to pull the plug and he wanted to stay longer, but previous plans cut it short. We left at 11am and both of us were pretty tired from the short night. I will try took get him out another time or two this season.

Those Jake's get in your lap he probably didn't stay down on the shot. I missed my first jake just like that

Think it was a combined troubles of looking over the barrel and "turkey fever". Shot right over top of him. They come in a running....shook him up.
