I'm not claiming to "know all the right moves" but what these idiots in Washington are doing surely isn't working.... It must be a job that any common man can do, and the common man just never got the opportunity to do it. It seems difficult to me, but lots of things do. I'm a little on the simple side, pencil not too sharp if you know what I mean. I really don't think I could do it. There isn't a problem in this country that can't be solved if those in power would put country above party (and re-election) to do it. Throw in the fact that it would also require sacrifice that politicians don't want to ask their constituents to live with and you have the issues we do now. So they keep the infighting going and convince their voting block during the campaigns that they will solve the problems (this time) if we'll only elect them again....only to go back to Washington, blame the other party and the media for their failures and the cycle starts anew. Ultimately, the question has to be...how long are voters going to continue to allow this?

Ultimately, the question has to be...how long are voters going to continue to allow this? Now you're talking! They are human, and they will do what every other human did before them. We can just hope that some of it will benefit the common man. They give themselves golden parachute retirements for serving only one term in Congress. They didn't take the same insurance that they forced on the American public, and when they take our guns away, their bodyguards will still have them. They're not idiots; they're just humans dealing with all the pressures that come with the job ...mostly things that we can only imagine.

On this point you and I will have to agree to disagree, for IMO you give them far more credit than they've earned....

Some are what I would consider idiots but most are not. Some are what I would consider very intelligent people but most are not.
Most are just average people...Accurately representing a nation of average people with some above and some below mixed in.
