I wonder if my good friend Mark Reiter was present during this event? He's an avid NRA guy and I think he is behind all the new gun ranges being built in IN. I know that he loves to shoot his rifle. He was a member of the gun club in West Lafayette, IN back in 1975 when we were in school together at Purdue University. After first meeting Mark he invited me to go shooting a the club with him. It was our first outing together and we have many more after that while still in school. He said that he had some things to get done at IDNR F&W before he retired and that was back in 1991/92 when I last visited him. He didn't say it was building more ranges in the state but that's what the INDR F&W division has been doing. So it's a good guess that he is behind this. So thanks Mark as we could use some help making the Sugar Ridge Shooting Range even better. How about a true pistol range or two of them. The 25 yard ranges is the shortest one at Sugar Ridge and it's not really a true pistol range. Southern IN can use a few dollars down here Governor. Hope you don't retire before the new Sugar Ridge Shooting range is completed. LOL

Hoping he keeps the governors shoot going that Mike Pence started. I've always enjoyed shooting that. Also what's a four station shotgun range?

I just really want to shoot a perfect score in that. I've always missed just one or two lol. |

I shoot off an email to Mark and hope to hear back from him. I've not use that email address in a while. And I think it's his government or office email and since it's the weekend I don't expect to hear back form him until next week.
I did add some thing to the email about shooting at Sugar Ridge Shooting range and the need for a true pistol range in addition to the 25 yard range.
One person asking for that shorter range is not going to make it happen even though I'm friends with him. But if hundreds of people request the shorter pistol range at Sugar Ridge then it might happen some day. It doesn't hurt to ask. If you shoot up there fill in the card and add a comment to the card asking for improvements to the range. Ask for a true short range pistol shooting range for that facility.
