They must be trying to reduce the buck harvest by starting gun season so late. Crossbow is in order now so i can hunt the rut in efforts to get a nice buck. Hunting public property rut is really a big help. In my eyes cut down all the extra doe permits.

I have no idea why it's written this way, maybe someone else knows. I *THINK* it's written something like this: Gun deer season will start the 2nd Saturday after the first Tuesday in November. Hope this helps. I don't believe it has ANYTHING to do with trying to reduce the buck harvest.

They must be trying to reduce the buck harvest by starting gun season so late. Firearm season always opens on the first Saturday after Veteran's Day.

But, it works out as stated 1st Sat after Veterans day, and also the 12th & 18th dates as stated.

I can't remember why I was the first in my large hunting group to buy a bow back in 1985/86. Maybe it was one of those 18th day starts or I was just eager to get in more hunting days. Who knows too long ago.

Indiana has been consistent with Opening day of firearm's season being third weekend in November. Just how the calendar worked out. Last year slightly earlier, this year slightly later.

Here's how the actual law is worded:
November 11 is always Veteran's Day.

I haven't looked at the special antlerless season dates, but I can guarantee the rest are at their normal dates -- the archery opener on October 1, the firearms opener on the first Saturday after Veteran's Day, and the muzzleloader opener three Saturdays after the firearms opener. Proline opened a new listing for compound bowstrings that's different than its old one so yall should check it out- It's been the same for decades. Thanks for posting this

. I *THINK* it's written something like this:
Gun deer season will start the 2nd Saturday after the first Tuesday in November. Meny meny years ago when i first started hunting i called the dnr to see why gun season was a week later that year. I was told that "gun season starts the firzt saturday AFTER the 11th of Nov every year." That is how it has worked out every year so far.

If you want a great crossbow withoutthe hit of the wallet and be able to shoot 100 yards, the PSE Fang LT will be the 1 you want. I was shooting a group of 6 at 100 yards in a 4 inch circle. It has split limbs and weighs about 6 lbs and is compact enough for a ground blind. Just have to watch for the limbs splitting. My son got his 1st ever deer with mine, and it happened to be a beautiful 7 point with a wide and tall rack. Then I got 3 deer with it, 1 buck at 3.5 yards and 2 doe. The 1st doe was 30 yards and the 2nd was at 85 yards. I use the 3 dot illuminated scope and set the 1st dot at 10 yards and could shoot to 30. Then set the 2nd dot at 30 and could shoot to 60. Then set the 3rd dot at 60 and it's game over to 100 yards. I don't have a computer, but I have the video on my old phone just to show the non believers it can be done.

This week I started my 2 mile walk at work each day (most days) to get ready for fall hunting. This way my breathing after climbing the stand 25 feet does not increase much and reduce sweating Just one of those little things. I try to walk most of the time, but from now on more effort to take the time. This also helps with my bow and gun breathing. It's a win-win!

Just received a 25 ft climbing steps, safety harness rope, and 8 ratchet straps. Now I have two 25 ft and one 20 ft. Slowly not needing my summit climbing stand. I hope to put up all three in the next couple weeks.

I did manage to put up the new climbing steps early Saturday morning in my back yard. Still need to trim and clear some. Next two climbing steps heading to Switzerland county. One back to the same red oak tree (25') and the 20' to a new cedar tree near the one I hunted last year. More on top to be able to see down two ridges.
