I can't figure it out. I have 4 vehicles and am currently trying to sell 2 of them. I am taking a huge loss on both of them at what I have them listed at been for sale probably 2-3 months each very little traffic. Never had to drop a price so low compared to what I bought them for. Both vehicles I have owned for around 2 years. Both I bought for what I could see as a steal, cheapest I could find anywhere around. Are vehicle sales down, or just everyone buying new, or am I just delusional about what I am seeing as a heck of a deal for a future buyer?
I have them listed on Craigslist, CarGurus, cars and one of them on KBB and Autotrader.
Can't figure it out.

97 f250 and a 2014 Ford fiesta. Only thing I can think of to better the hits is lower the prices. I try to respond very quick, take additional photos if Requested, I don't live on a traveled road so that doesn't help if I put them out front. Never had this much trouble selling vehicles in the past.

Hmm I don't know what it could be. I rarely look for a vehicle, they always seem to find me. Maybe people are more into buying newer right now.

Either that or just that fuzzy feeling of finding the same thing at a dealer and paying more. I haven't found something with comparable miles, body style or lower price anywhere online.

I hate selling stuff, especially cars. Seems like I get a lot of interest, but nobody serious. People asking about payments, shooting lowball offers without even seeing the vehicle, having a 10 text conversation then they ask you to remind them which car they inquired about, etc. Also seems like nobody reads the ad, they text you questions about year, mileage, and so on that are clearly listed.
I just don't have the patience for it..

When people see the same vehicle(s) for sale at the same location for an extended period of time they begin to think that something is wrong with the vehicle(s) because it hasn't sold. 97 F250 is a big truck, limited market, the Fiesta is new but not brand new.

New sales are good now. Not sure why you can'take sell. If you need to get rid of them take to an auction and set the minimum where you need it.

May be a buyer's market right now for used vehicles. I just bought a convertible Mustang to replace the motorcycle that was totaled in 2014. Saw it online, went in to the dealer and got it for exactly what I wanted to pay (well, after I stood up and headed for the door).

Have you tried Facebook?
Lots of dedicated pages to sales. "Toys for big boys" is a pretty popular one.

Never had this much trouble selling vehicles in the past. I would have to think that both of those vehicles would have a pretty narrow market. Somebody has to be looking for those particular parameters. Most people that just want a truck to have are looking for a F150 type and I don't think I have ever heard anyone say they were "looking for a Ford Fiesta". When someone thinks that the price gets down to what they think is "a good buy", then they will move.

Neither is a high demand vehicle, so probably priced too high. The 3/4 ton trucks aren't real attractive unless diesel, in which case they sell pretty quick. We sell a few used gas engine F-250's from the business every year, in good shape and look good, usually 10 years old with about 200,000 miles for about $3-4000.

Pretty sure the truck was a diesel if I remember the ad correctly.

I just don't have the patience for it.. I can't sell a car if my life depended on it. But there are people that do it regularly and make a little cash at it. Not a car salesman either just the average Joe. You know everyone knows that guy that could sell a car to a blind person.

I don't really have a Facebook anymore but my wife has shared them on there.
I'm sure it's a good combo of everything you guys have said. Both take someone specifically looking for that vehicle.
I have been asked to trade everything under the sun for the truck. Dirtbike that don't run, old beat up trucks 2wd straight up, sound systems, etc. Been offered way less than I'm selling for, asked to sell on payments and I get calls everyday from a place in Nevada telling me they have buyers in my area that are approved and looking for a vehicle like mine and if I pay them $200 they will get them to buy my truck and I get the $200 back 100% garanteed. I said if it's garanteed just sell my truck no $200...
Sorry too, I really didn't mean to post this hoping to sell in the campfire thing just more of a vent for my lack of ability to sell or you guys to tell me I'm nuts and they are only worth half what I was asking.
