There was a guy in perry county that had a pet bear. Let me make my tin foil hat before anyone responds, think I just heard a black helicopter or was it a UFO? Hey, those tin foil hats really work. I keep mine on my desk, so I have it every time I get on the computer. It is noted that it takes a Geezer to call aluminum foil tin foil.

Here's my question. If they trapped and tagged it, why wouldn't they return it to the owner? If a pet deer gets out and they trap it, return. Bear same. Actually any animal. Heck even dogs. But a Jaguar that isn't native they let go? They think it was a pet, from a few years ago and they owner moved to Arizona. The female had kittens in the past and let them be I guess. Jaguar are native to Ohio and Indiana. Black Panthers are not. I just fixed the camera and hope to set it up tomorrow. Jaguar are not native to the Midwest. There natural habitat is in the rainforest of South America and Mexico. Have been found historically as far north as Arizona or Texas. I'd love to see data to prove this different.

My take on Mt lions, black panthers, jaguars in my parts of the world, I don't care who tells me they have seen one, I'll have my doubts until I personally witness one in the wilds of Indiana. Anybody ever seen a badger in Indiana? In 1983 a buddy of mine caught and released one in a fox set in Pike County Indiana near the small town of Augusta.

It hasn't been that many years ago that you would have been called a liar if you told people you saw a bobcat in Indiana. Now we see them on a regular basis!

You see what happens when deer season ends. All we have to talk about is bipedal monsters, covert missions dropping cougars in the woods, and tin foil hats.

Idnr has confirmed evidence of badgers in 82 counties in indiana.

The DNR was using black special ops helicopters to drop wild cougars in selected areas in hopes of controlling the deer populations and now they are dropping more cougars in hopes of controlling the expanding population of bobcats. My sister in law got this from her cousin who was out one night illegally digging ginseng when he saw this happen. I wonder if the cougars repel down a line or parachute in !?! a quick tip. DNR vendor for the parachutes had to increase price per unit due to a major cup maker buying the raw materials for the biodegradable materials. A suggestion from Dept of corrections to find alternate use for the walmart sacks they pick up on community service days was passed to nongame guys...now when you see a tree line full of walmart bags you can think it was a wind storm or know DNR jusp stocked a bunch of snakes or baby black panthers

I lived in Ohio in the 80's. Across the street was a gas station. The owner loved to gamble and had some high stakes games. One Saturday night he won himself his very own pet lion.He built a 360* cage between the house and garage and everyone in the area came to see it.
I talked to him after he had it for a couple weeks and he was complaining he had to feed it a box of chicken every other day!He tried everything to get rid of it.Couldn't sell it or trade it.After a couple months he up and "said" he had to lose it in a card game to get rid of it.May be true but knowing this guy he also may have just took it for a ride and it "escaped" into the wild.
Stranger things have happened! Wade

Rattlesnakes, black widows and brown recluse spiders to. Stories like that keep the city boys in town.

Put me in the category of folks that have personally, with my own eyes, seen a cougar in Indiana. Couple of them actually.
Angel Lange had one briefly that I got to see up close and there was a second one, in the wild, around the Bruceville area. I saw that cat on 3 different occasions and believe it was more than likely an escaped pet.
There was a badger killed on hwy41 just south of Vincennes last year. One killed on hwy41 by Oaktown in 2014.

A trapper that used to trap in behind me cut a lion's track back in the spoil banks. This feller trapped out west too and knows a lion's track when he sees one... Yes, I carry when hunting...
