Question Jack, I didn't check in a deer this year so I don't even know what the screen looked like. Anyone - Was there a methods category that was HPR or was it just Rifles like it has been since PCRs were first being used? Not sure how they got HPRs if it was all under rifles..? I killed a doe this year with a rifle (pcr), and I could have sworn there was a just spot for rifles, not hprs. I just got through checking and it is just - Rifles... No listing for PCRs or HPRs..Just Rifles

I just got through checking and it is just - Rifles... No listing for PCRs or HPRs..Just Rifles I wonder where the 20% figure came from? I agree, The check-in process did not separate "rifles" into PCR and HPR. Having 20 percent of the total deer harvest by both types of centerfire rifles combined for this season seems reasonable to me. By comparison, the 2015 season harvest by "rifles" was 19 percent of the total harvest. So, preliminary data seem to indicate no great increase in the annual harvest due to use of HPR. The sky did not fall.

The DFW is also requesting to establish a three-year resident fishing license, hunting license, and hunting/fishing license combo. According to the Southwick survey of our resident hunters and anglers, over half of them would prefer a three to five year license to an annual license. The Division is proposing to offer these 3-year licenses at a 5% discount ($63 for the hunting and fishing, $87 combo). I would buy this.

Increase in duck stamp ...yes
Increase in trout stamp ...no
We have a very small area of the Lake Michigan pie and unless you have a big boat there is not to many places to fish from, in addition we have scaled way back on our stocking programs.

I think Mark's statement was that they no incidents with HPRs and 20% of the deer taken were with rifles. I interpreted the 2 statements as only HPRs but in hindsight I bet the 20% was all rifles. My mistake. Jack

Thanks for clearing that up. It's much appreciated.

I didn't really figure there would be, but it's nice to hear.

I wonder where the 20% figure came from? Having 20 percent of the total deer harvest by both types of centerfire rifles combined for this season seems reasonable to me. Is it 20% of the total harvest, or 20% of the firearm harvest?

Looks like there is a delay with this proposal. NRC likely won't address this issue tomorrow.

Question: Would anyone support increases to the waterfowl stamp, game bird habitat stamp or the trout stamp? I didn't raise the issue today but I may next week. Jack Just saw this so maybe too late. I would support a raise in these stamps.
