Great thanks. Makes good sense. Joe, Menards usually has some great deals during hunting season and especially after. I haven't looked lately, but the deals are pretty good on what they have.

Dennis, i already checked rural king off 31 in greenwood and it was picked over pretty good, i read someone elses post about wool socks and went that night and RK was fresh out. I might check out menards but i hate the one in center grove. I Might try the menards on emerson and southport.

Probably the worst one I've seen in years. RK in Bloomington and Bedford, top notch. They are better than I gave them credit for until I visited the one on 31 you are talking about.

I saw a pentagon (5 sided) ground blind at my local RK. It looked very cool and would work perfect in a spot I have on the farm. I just couldn't justify spending $150 on it. Yes, that was the clearance price.

Dave, that being said is it safe to assume that someone who shoots 50 lb draw might normally shoot something closer to 300 while a 70lb draw shoots closer to 400? (Im sure im generalizing but im curious if my logic is on track) Actually, the higher the spine number, the weaker the arrow. Lots of thing affect an arrow's spine (stiffness) -- arrow length, fieldpoint weight, speed of the bow, draw weight, etc. That's why arrow manufacturers have charts that you use to determine your correct arrow spine. I myself use a computer program called OnTarget2 ( www.pinwheelsoftware.com/sfa.aspx) to help me choose the exact spine for me. I can change various parameters on the software and see changes in my spine. Here's an explanation of arrow spine: eastonhunting.com/making-sense-of-arrow-spine/Here's the software I use to get my arrow spine dead nuts.

Lol! It's really pretty easy, though I'll admit that it looks intimidating at first. The program has a database of all arrows and bow models back to around 2000. You simply find your bow in the drop down menu, and the program enters all the specs in the boxes. It does the same thing for arrows. Type in your draw length and draw weight, and you are ready to go.
I try different spine arrows and adjust the length and tip weight to get the spine gauge centered perfectly. Increasing or decreasing draw weight also helps you tweak it. You have some leeway towards both weak and stiff, but I want mine perfect. The perfect scenario is when the optimal spine and static spine boxes are the same (in my case .400).
They offer a free trial where you can play around with it. After so many uses, it quits working and gives you the chance to buy it. Too many bowhunters simply grab an arrow off the shelf and go. Then they complain about poor flight characteristics, or worse, about bad hits on deer. A wobbly arrow sheds kinetic energy fast.
The example pictured above is the $120 arrows that were on sale for $49.99!

Thats a nice stand. I gave mine to my buddy that had his stuff stolen. I saw the $50 price a while back but decided to put that towards a new climber.

How about half-priced Muck boots? www.muckbootcompany.com/Promo code is HWHOLIDAY. I'm not sure how much longer the sale will last, or what boots are included in it, but the code worked on the few I tried.
