I've been putting together a mental wish list for my must have items before next season. First and foremost are boots and clothes for the cold weather. 1600 gram lacrosse alpha burly pro's are my choice for boots. I also want to get insulated bibs and coat with removable liner for cold weather. My hunting buddy got some at Meijer on sale last year that I like alot and he says they are great. At least 1 or 2 ground blinds and the list goes on and on lol. There is no way I will be able to get everything I want without my wife killing me lol.

All I need or want is some decent land that is within reasonable driving distance from my house.

All I need or want is some decent land that is within reasonable driving distance from my house. Luckily I have 20 acres I'm hunting now. I have 2 farms that I'm waiting my turn to get in on. I will check in with the farmers in the spring time so I'm really hoping to get on at least one of them. I'm a beginner still and even though I've made great strides in my hunting collection in a short time there are still some things I can upgrade and That I want.

It's embarrassing for me to look at all the stuff I have. I think someone need this or that more than I do.
I thought I had everything I needed before the season started, but it didn't keep me from buying another stand and building one. It just never ends. I really don't think it does for me ...I do though. LOL

Your right it doesn't ever end. I tell my wife eventually you don't have to buy much year in and year out because once you get everything you "think " you need it will last for a long time. I know that's a bunch of BS because there's always gonna be something new or better.

I really really need a rangefinder as i ONLY hunt with a bow! Its not a want but a need cause after 20 yards i have trouble ranging them! Maybe ill be able to get 1 before next season. Just broke and trying to pay a mortgage and raise a family and all that good stuff on a mediocre job. But im blessed to just have what i have.

Im getting a summit cobra climber. I have an older model summit (adjustable metal bars, not cables) and its not comfortable or quiet. Its pretty much a must have for the new property ill be hunting next year. Current property is all dwarf woods and ila climber is useless.
Plus my current climber came in contact with poison ivy so it needs to be destroyed with upmost prejudice.

I completely understand I'm supporting a family of 6 on mediocre pay and my wife stays home with the little one. I've got pretty much all of my hunting stuff here and there. The only expensive hunting things I have are my xbow that I bought with my tax return and my nikon rangefinder that was a gift from my sister. I'll tell you the same thing I tell myself ... one thing at a time and eventually you'll get there

Mine are as follows:
Some lighter outer layers for warmer days
Maybe a climbing stand (and associated life lines, harnesses, etc)
Gun safe
But most of all I need to make some more time. I need to hit the range more throughout the year and do a lot more scouting. I also picked up a couple hunting related books I want to read and there are a few more I want to pick up.
I really want to hit archery season next year. My hunting land is pretty far away so I really only get to go on weekends so the more possible weekends the better. I also had some nice deer on camera during archery.
More than that, I've been thinking a lot about what's important to me and how far things have drifted away from that over the last couple years.
