Bought a Kimber 1911 in 10MM with the intentions of going after deer with it this year....didn't happen though. Maybe next year.

New - $650-700ish; and you'll need glass for it.

I began hunting deer with a S&W 629 .44 Magnum the first year they made them legal. Took several over the years with it, and it worked well once I learned what ammo to use. I've used an AR pistol chambered in 6.8 SPC. I just more or less wanted to see how it would work, and found that it worked just fine using 110 grain Pro Hunter bullets. But since they'd legalized pistol cartridge rifles, I'd mostly given up the handguns. I shoot hand loaded 240 grain Hornady XTP's over 20 grains of 2400. The deer I've shot with it will run about 35 or 40 yards before they fall over. Last year I shot a buck with the PCR then in the late antlerless gun season I took a nice doe with my 4 inch barreled S&W model 29 using the same loads.
