Seems to me I got drawn for a muzzleloader only hunt at some point and you couldn't use inlines with scopes and all that - is Muscatatuck that way?

Are you able to take antlered deer if you have already taken one? On other draw hunts there you can because you have to use a MRL to hunt....call them and ask.

I was drawn for one hunt in muscatatuck and to me it was a joke. They never checked anyone in and the place was still open to anyone that wanted to come in. Dog walkers, bird watchers, they were all out there. May be different now but that's how it was the day I went.

Not hard at all to close it down. The DNR shuts the State Parks down without issue.

Yeah but its 50,000 acres hard to close that off to the public There are only 2 gates. Not hard at all to close it down. The DNR shuts the State Parks down without issue. I never understood why they didn't keep a better eye on who was supposed to be in there either. I was sitting on a lane one day next to a large overgrown field that they had quit maintaining (another problem there) waiting on a couple of my buddies. I didn't realize that in the back of the field where two guys trailing a buck they had shot. Deer where crossing the road 100 yards each direction. As I went to shoot a large half racked 10 pt I heard a person say, "I wish you wouldn't shoot deer in front of us!". Due to my surprise I didn't get the shot off before the deer saw the 2 birdwatchers standing in the middle of the road. Needless to say I probably gave hunters a bad name that day. I didn't leave much unsaid. As they left, I did not even watch their direction until about a minute had passed. When I turned around to look their way they were gone and the second biggest buck I ever saw at Muskatatuck was standing in the lane with 2 does. We all saw each other at the same time. Still don't know where the birdwatchers went.

There is only ONE gate in use now ... Been that way for some years!
You can't hunt but in certain areas in there also....

I always park on the outside and walk in to my spots. In the summer when I run through there in the evening I do the same thing so I don't get shut out by the gate.
