After having several bucks in range, but not offering a shot and after passing up 6 smaller bucks, my son finally got one to stop for a shot. He made a great shot on the buck quartering to him at 45 yards with his .44mag. To make it even better, my nephew (his cousin) who he thinks the world of killed a buck at almost the exact same time. When I picked my phone up to text him that Jaxson had shot, I received a text from him that he had shot. We did not find the first drop of blood before we found the deer. Neither went over 60 yards. My son. My son and nephew.

Youth hunters are the future of hunting. We should nurture them for them and hunting as a sport and life dedication. Congratulations to the young hunters and sincere thanks to their parents and grandparents. Edit to add "grandparents"

Mr Jim, you are right. My nephew is 27 though and an Indiana Conservation Officer. I remember taking him to Kentucky when he was about my boys age chasing turkeys.
