I was recently at a sporting goods store killing time watching folks purchasing items for hunting season. It is so ridiculous to look at some of the items available for deer hunters such as..... Various camo patterns, scent free boots as well as clothing, shampoo, bar soap, underarm deodorant and scent free sprays.
I get a real laugh out of folks that smear different color paints on their face, are those scent free? How do you know you are scent free, The most recent item is a calming scent that come in a under arm deodorant stick which you can smear on everything to calm the deer down.
I have been hunting deer for several decades and I have always put a deer in my freezer without the use of any of these items.
Maybe I am behind in the times but then again I never believed in the silent dog whistle either.

I used that "Deer herd in a stick" product once, it spooked the deer so bad that I had to move my stand.

it is modern nature to make things more dificult or the apearance of such. Helps sell products and make folk feel better about out smarting a coyote, bever, fish, turkey, deer etc...that have been caught and killed for centuries or more

The scent lok camo is pretty pricey if you ask me 230 for the jacket an 200 for the pants not to mention some of the shirts being 100 if not 150 for the fleece. I have been using Walmart camo fourth bucks for jacket an bibs. I have grown really fond of realtree camo. I have seen a lot of deer. Mature bucks handful in the last four years but I'm hunting heavily hunted areas with about 18 hunters in the first mile around me. Iv been wanting to invest in a little better insulated camo for colder months.

Looking at the photos of young hunters that killed a deer this past weekend I didn't see any HEC suits or face paint they got their deer the old fashion way...........good hunting techniques.

It's all about marketing and targeting the guys that always need to have the "next best thing." Now, I'm always looking for a way to be more comfortable and efficient when hunting. But, I don't really see the value in having camo underwear.
One thing that always makes me laugh is opening a Cabela's or BPS catalog and seeing a couple guys standing next to a fireplace with a cup of coffee...in their long johns.

I'm thinking about selling some "magic charms" for deer hunting. As the old saying goes: " A fool and his money are a joy to find!!"

Who cares what the other guy is buying as long as he isn't asking you to pay for it.

I sometimes use the best camo out there, my business work casual cloths. I taken more deer by driving straight from work and going straight to the stand. The only thing I change is the good shoes to boots (rubber) and I tuck in the pants so I don't damage them. I think I've hunted out in all colors and that's days work smells. Like wise men say: go high in the trees, don't move, and hunt where the wind is in your favor. If you see last years buck picture I was wearing a black Sam Adams sweatshirt with white lettering and cheap faded Walmart pants.

I have a group of friends that swear by it. They have actually stalked within yards of deer and turkey and the animals just stare right through them. I just try to not look like a blob and match the surroundings so it is easier to get away with movement. I think hiding your face is a must in any situation, I have always liked mossy oak camo

If I had been wearing a hecs suit I think I could've given it a little pat on the head.

I like mossy oak camo as it doesn't make me look as fat. I wear face paint too, because it's my only opportunity to wear it. My wife won't let me use her makeup.

If I get these for my kids, will it ground their energy and make them quit fighting with each other?
