Planted the food plots today. I had a gent do the rototilling for us yesterday and we planted today. This field used to be rectangular but has had a couple trees that have fell in it. We’ve went so far allowing some weed and brush growth around the edges making in more natural looking. And to make it where deer have a lot of entrance places.. A real deer smorgasborg - Oats, winter wheat, purple top turnips, radishes, clover and a bag of ShotPlot thrown in for good measure. Woodmaster doing the drag with an old oak skid. The heavy skid worked great.. We have basically three areas that are interconnected. The two fallen trees separate the areas . This is the north area where we drive into. Quite a few deer use the lane (top left) that we drive in on to work the plot. The green to the right is the fallen tree. This is the center area and you can see the downed tree that separates this area from the north area. My “rubbing post” with new licking limbs in place. You can see the trail camera and my ladder stand behind the post. The middle stand . two of the stands are where the trees are down. That moves the deer to within 20 yards as they pass. The other is a double ladder stand in the corner of the north area. The tree downed narrowed down spot that leads to the north area.,. The double ladder stand in the corner of the north area.. I killed a decent buck out of it two years ago.. There was good moisture in the ground and hopefully add some rain this coming week to get it going good. I’ll fertilize good when the oats get up a ways.

I hope very much some day I can get my own land to do with as I please. Even if it's not a lot you can always build it up to attract and hold wildlife.
