Not a good photo, but it looks like the boss doe has a challenger: For some reason, for a few hours that night it looked like fog was billowing through. Couldn't clean it up any more.

That's a pretty cool picture. I would have loved to have gotten a good photo of it. I really don't know what the foggy stuff is. I was having a lot of trouble with it, so I put a shield over the top of the camera. This seemed to help for the most part. Several photos had it and it looked like smoke or fog floating by. On the first photo, I thought the does were licking the branch, but they were going at it. I'd seen one of them chasing some bucks away, and figured she was the matriarch, but some young gal is ready to take her spot.

I know who is fighting now. I have this camera set for 5 burst photos, so I get a bunch ...way too many right now. I need to slow it down. Anyway, I knew that I had one doe that did not hang around the other 4.
I've seen the single girl several times while there and she seems to come before the gang gets there. Well, no so on this night. I saw the 4 walk by in single file, but a few minutes later the other doe came in. She was challenged immediately. I'm glad to see that she was a fighter instead of running away.
Oh, for the first time, I saw one of my big bucks urinate under the branch on my rubbing post. This is a good sign for me. I'll start some drips in Sept.
Hey, my big bucks are still running together. So I'm hearing that they will split up, yes?

Any idea when I should expect this? About the time the velvet starts to come off.
