Wondering what kind of setup most guys use in this area, climber, ladder or box blind. I have all three on one of my properties but I just use a summitt climber. Use the others for guests. What do you use?

I like them all.
Last summer I built a 4' high wood platform and put a blind on top, that's nice too. I'd like to build another before season.

99% I hunt from the ground. Find a tree I like, clear the leaves and sticks take a seat and just wait.

I have gone from climbers to ladders and back to climbers. I bought a ground blind and gave it an honest try on several occasions. However, I just don't have much confidence if I am not sitting comfortably in a tree.
I would much rather utilize the convenience of a ladder while getting settled down in the pre-dawn, but I don't have the ambition (or the help) to set ladder stands up and remove them after the season.

I have a couple lock on stands and a couple of ladder stands, but have really started liking the box blinds since my son got big enough to hunt. We have a 2-man ladder stand that we hunted out of a few times. I imagine we will use it more this fall.

I know what you mean beermaker, if I'm not in a tree I'm lost. I have a good buddy who's a groundhunter/ stalker who can kill a big deer every year on ground. Im a climber guy and will do so till I cannot climb anymore.

I have blinds, ladders, climbers, and hang on stands. Most of my sets are hang on stands with antenna towers for access ladders.

In the last few years I moved to climbing stick and hang on stands. I try to find big large oak trees or any type of wolf tree. I also use a climber as a stand by to move to a new or different area.

Do not use hang ons anymore, just do not feel safe in them, plus set up is difficult. Most of my stands are ladders, but also have a few tower blinds on home property, and a few spots where I like to ground hunt. Not a fan of the tent style ground blinds, much prefer making a ground blind out of natural materials, like a duck blind. I use a climber periodically too. best thing about a climber is the flexibility of being able to set up in numerous positions, plus you take it in and out with you each trip and nobody knows where you are hunting.
You need to be flexible and adapt to what and where the deer are up to. Nothing wrong with laying down in a ditch, if deer are using an open field and that's the only way to get close.

On my 40 acres I have 6 lock on style stands with ladder steps to access. I quit using the screw in steps.
The two ladder stands (a single and a double)are on the food plot. I like the double better as it has more room to stretch out for a long wait.

Ladders, hang ons, climber and I have my deer condo that's sets on the side of one of my fields. It's a 5x5 box setting on top of 16 foot 4x4s. Very comfortable and a nice place to set on a miserable day. Thinking of building another one on my property. If so I will probably have some ladders, hang ons and climbers for sale. Lol

I have 3 ladder stands, and will probably end up doing some still hunting because I get restless after a few hours in the tree! Haven't pulled the trigger on getting a ground blind yet.

My best stand sites I use lockon's and climbing sticks. I do use some ladder stands, but the lockon's are much easier to move if need be and past experience has shown me that mature bucks tend to avoid permanent stands. That's not saying a mature buck can't be taken out of ladder's or box blinds but I hunt almost exclusively bow , so the closer the better. Just easier for me to go undetected with lockon's.

A few years back I built a couple of deer condo's Hornzilla talked about. I used 4x8 pallet rack, turned out real nice with sliding shooting windows. Bolted them on landscape timbers and used the tractor to drag into the woods. My father used them till he passed a few years ago. I'll get some pics next time I go the property.

Man, I cannot imagine anyone being more afraid of heights than I am. When I first got one, I put it up in my yard to get use to it. I got half way up the ladder and was stuck, frozen with fear, legs shaking. My daughter talked me back down. It was embarrassing.
Now it doesn't seem to bother me much climbing into my stands, but they are all ladder stands, 4, one of which is a single. For some reason the single scares me more. I feel like those steel workers sitting on a beam eating lunch at a thousand feet up before OSHA.
Basically, I need as much room as I can get. For some reason, this makes me FEEL safer.
I recently saw a hunting show where a guy built a platform and put a blind on top of it. If I had my own land, I'd build blinds like a tree house.
