Back around 2006 -2008 I bought my sister a compound bow , but it's for a right hander but I'm a leftie . I can use my right hand for most uses , I have been known to shoot right handed , I injured my left . The bow has only been shot twice at the store where the bow was bought . I'm thinking on trying to shoot the bow , any thoughts and tips ?

Go for it. I know some guys who switched because of their dominate eye.

A friend switched shooting sides because of an eye injury. If you work at it, you'll likely become comfortable shooting right handed. As Scrub said, "Go for it."

I wish I could switch from my dominate arm, because it doesn't line up with my dominate eye. I just don't think I'll ever put enough time in it to be able to do it. I'm sure it can be done, but I just don't want to put that much effort into it. LOL ...being honest.
Tips: Practice, practice and more practice.
This is probably the biggest reason I don't use a compound bow. Sure it hurts to shoot it, but I could still do it if I had a mind to. I really don't want to practice enough to feel confident enough to point that thing at a living animal. Thank God for the old man's weapon, crossbow! It's like a gun in bow season just don't tell anyone.

I figured that since that the compound bow is here and everything that I would need to target practice and hunt with , why not give it a try .

One of my leftie buds begged me to let him try my right handed 50# recurve once, he smacked his forearm several times resulting in a nasty embolism and a trip to the ER later that day. Cuidado amigo!

Yep - Arm guards are a good thing.
