First time I have heard of it. If you take care of you camo & don't wash it in your regular laundry detergent you shouldn't need it but for those who do here is a link that gives a little more details. www.atsko.com/u-v-killer-sport-wash-combo/

LOL, if it makes you feel good, it is.
I know a guy who's never owned a camo anything, sits on a bucket at the end of a field while smoking, and has killed more deer than I'll ever see.
Me, I like all the gadgets. Does any of it help? I don't know, but I really don't care. If it makes me feel better, it works for me.
I think I told you about the deer that came down the same trail that I had come down 30 minutes earlier. If he had smelled me, he would have taken another trail. What I did that day must have been good.
I really think we can overdo a lot, and it can be a bad thing if it's not natural. If it seems odd to a mature buck, he'll go around. So smoke might be a natural thing at times, but too much isn't good. When I put my clothes by my fire pit. The smoke smell was STRONG. I saw a buck coming my way, and he got a whiff, looked directly at me close to 100yds away. Even though he didn't know what I was, he walked way around the direction of the smell to get past me. If I had really spooked him, back the other way he would have went.
Trial and error, mostly error for me is what I do. I hear and read a lot, but for some reason, I just have to try it myself. I don't care to fail as long as I can learn something. Some lessons really hurt though.

I've always wash mine in a non UV brightening detergent -that's about all I do.

I've always wash mine in a non UV brightening detergent -that's about all I do. I'm the same way, non UV brightening detergent and after drying I put the cloths in a bin with a piece or two of cedar. I also try to place my stands in cedar trees or in a tree that is right up against a cedar tree. I use the cedar for odor control and cover. It works very well. If I can't find that tree option, then I will cut a cedar down and tie it to the tree.

I put them all in a bag - kind of like the ceder idea. I'll put a little in the bag.

Most of my hunting clothing never gets washed. I wear it hunting, then hang it up to air out.
Not really a believer in UV killer, Ozonics, scent shield spray, scent lock clothes or any such gadgetry. Rarely use trail cameras either.

Rarely use trail cameras either. I've used Sportwash and UV killer, still do. My preferred scent cover is Deer Dander, all three work well. ALL regular laundry detergents conatain UV brighteners, take a blacklight to your camo, you'll be surprised how many will glow. I keep all of my hunting clothes in a spare bedroom saturated by an ozone generator, during the season it gets moved to a pop-up closet where I de-scent the clothes I wear most. Positively kills all odors, and prevents me from contaminating them in the washer by accident. Once they're de-scented I can apply the Deer Dander just before heading out to one of my blinds. I've seldom been busted since beginning this simple regimen.

I keep all of my gear in a tote with leaves pine needles and dirt. This season will be my first experiment with it but I have some deer poop in my freezer that I'm going to use for cover scent. I have also been told that the poop makes for a good attractant as it makes the deer curious.

If it makes you a little more confident, then go for it. I'm of the thought that you hunt the right wind, choose the correct paths to go in and out, and you will do just fine. Don't overthink it.

Yes, like Dave says, wind is a huge factor. My wife wants me to stay down wind of her, but I don't understand it.

I've heard it said that while a human may recognize the scent of beef stew, if a deer sniffed it, he'd smell the individual carrots, onions, gravy, etc. So a human with a cover scent smells just like that to a deer, human + dirt or whatever. I still use a scent spray though, mainly ankle-down. In any case, I'd rather smell like an apple than a deer turd... Whoops, meant to put this in the UV thread. got it

wesb..... Atsko is one of the oldest camo clothing washes made, They just have been over ran by the hyped up new soaps that Pro hunters endorse. I have use it for I know 30+ years, I still have old camo that is not faded out from washing. I also use Neutrogena bar soap for my body wash, I also have been using it as long as the clothes wash. Believe it or not my mom turn me onto this when I was a junior in high school (78) when I used Neutrogena 10-06 for Acne. It has worked well for me all these years.
This is just my experience, not saying the new stuff doesn't work.

Smoke. This'll be my third year doing it and I've not found a reason not to believe yet.
Oh, and, I rarely wash my clothes and when I do it's in water only. No soap. No uv killers. No scent sprays. No cover scents.

Studies conducted by the manufacturers show that it does work.
I only wash my outer wear during the season if it gets bloody or excessively muddy. Other than that, I wash all of my hunting clothes at the end of the season and then they hang in my hobby room until the next year. I only use earth or acorn cover scent.
