esshup Those stands were death traps...... Does anyone remember the loggy bayou climbing stands? They were a bit better than a baker, but not by much.... I got lucky with my Baker I guess, I was scared to death of it and was really, really careful. I forget how long I used it, but I do remember having to change the plywood....... Once I had the bottom go down the tree while I was safely in the seat. Talk about a PITA to get down!!! Next time out I made durn sure there was rope keeping both attached together. Young and stupid at the time....

I still have a Loggy in my garage and there may be a Baker in my dads garage. I liked the Loggy because it did zero damage to the tree but its not a very quiet climber.

I still have my original Baker... Is that museum donation material? :-) I doubt it...it has the original plywood on it which by my reackoning makes it about 35 years old...

Have 2 of the old Bakers hanging on the back wall. Wow, those old death traps and being young and to cool to wear a safety belt. Wonder I'm still alive today. Good times, good times.
