Any idea why she will hold her mouth open a little?

Guessing it may be a gender thing, Jon. The lady across the street has the same tendency, if she's awake she's talking.

It's 35 days since 1/25. Should be hatching anytime now.

Just got a real good look at the eggs. No hatchlings yet. The camera operator zoomed in and froze the frame with the eggs clearly exposed and the leg band on the Momma's left leg showing. You could see part of the numbers.

Also trying to make out what that carcass is in the nest. Looks to be a rabbit, but it's hard to say for sure.

I just looked and saw what appeared to be a chick in there. Pretty neat to see how gentle they can be while they are up and moving the eggs/chicks around. Also after they settle back down saw what appeared to be the parent "pulling up the blanket" so to speak as they grabbed some grass and such and piled it up front after they sat back down. If you watch for any length of time you can definitely tell something is stirring under the parent.
Love the intimate look into the lives of our emblem.

Yep, definitely one hatchling in there! I had tried to get a peek earlier, but gave up after a while and went onto argue politics and such elsewhere on the net, just now came back and saw the fuzzball stumbling around when (Dad ?) stood up.

Second baby hatched now! Got to watch both parents feeding the newborns at the same time just now. One was taking bits of meat from the pheasant and the other from a fish. Kept them both pretty busy for a few minutes.

Saw one the other day along side the road eating something near the Patoka river at the refuge on 57. He/she looked like it was going to take off and I thought please just sit there and eat your supper. I didn't want to have to tell angel to be expecting another one to rehabilitate.
Bless that man for everything he does. Sadly he says out of the last 5 eagles that the DNR has brought to him only 1 was able to pull through with the injuries it had. He let me look at the last one he was taking care of from a distance. Such majestic animals.

They are really big now, and I see they got some bling on one leg. Cool to see all three are there.
