Sat almost 5 hrs this evening and had the coolest encounter I've ever had deer hunting. 3 bobcats came with a few feetof my tree this evening, Mom and 2 little ones. Got to watch then play a while, climb trees, etc. The encounter ended finally with mom finally seeing me and growling/hissing at me for about 30 seconds. I don't care how big you are, a 15lb cat mad at you from a couple yards away will make you pucker a little. They can climb 20ft in about .5 second.. Was an awesome hunt. Also had a doe and yearling come in just before dark. sounds like a great encounter to my knoladge we do not have them in this aera yet but please explain were you in a stand and if so how was the cat 2 yds away To be more specific, the mad cat was a couple yards from the base of my tree..maybe 3? At that point both youngins were in trees at eye level and one a few feet higher, maybe 3-4yds away. I was in a climber but could only get about 15ft.

Those cats are a different kind of critter...usually yotes and such will run at the first site or smell of man. I've had a bobcat stand its ground and growl at me as I walked by. I doubt they would kill you but it sure wouldn't be any fun fighting with that fury of teeth and claws.

Settled in a couple hours ago. Near a huge briar patch. Lots of oaks nearby. A few tracks. Got a bucket of cookies. We'll see what happens. Well, no deer spotted. Ate all my cookies though. I'll be back out Saturday.

Saw a few and 9 turkeys. Is fall turkey season open?? Had 9 at 25 yards for 5 min.s. Wasn't sure if it is open yet so didn't pull the trigger. Might be one of the coldest opening days I can remember. Whew, 4.5 set this evening and I am chilled to the bone. That wind was tough. Turkey came in today as well if you are bow hunting them.

Unless your fortunate enough to have your Lifetime, then your covered.

In a new spot. Swamp land surrounded by cranes and coons. Doe and 2 fawns moving 125 yds. Guess I didn't go deep enough.

Was nice opening morning for about 2 hours, then the wind. Bright moon up all night and windy during the day along with a ton of food everywhere = not much movement. Saw some squirrels. BUT... heard two bucks sparring in the dark a half hour before daylight! They were putting it to eachother..never saw either one.

Don't know if I'll be back out tonight or not. Brakes went out in the truck, hopefully the mechanic will have it fixed today and I'll pick it up tonight instead of hunting. Regardless, I'll be out Saturday A.M. (It's good to have 2 trucks!)

I probably would have shot him. It's good to see him out in the day.

He gets a pass...will be a 9 next year, with even more mass and hopefully add some width.

I'd be scared to pass a buck like that in Indiana just because you never know what will happen when he jumps that fence line.

Been in the stand since 330. Very windy but just had a mom and fawn come through and bed 30 yards away
