Watched 5 does for a while. Then looked up and had one trotting toward me it turned had blood running down its side. Hour has gone by and no one has came by looking for it. Just drove around and haven't found anyone parked.

how far is the bean field? is he heading your way? if its under three hundred yards our brit robin hood would of drilled that, lol well he does on the films anyway. lol good luck Billy Bean field is about 40 yards away. He was probably another 60-70 yards from the edge. I wish I could make that kind of shot! 2 quality bucks seen so far as well as several does. Had 2 does pass at 15 yards that get to keep walking the walk for the time being. They're starting to bed down it seems. Looks like bottoms are the place to be with this high wind. Good luck to everyone today

Saw mamma and twins. Was drawing back when my finger slipped and arrow suffered premature release. (Forgot I had a hand warmer in my hand.) Arrow down somewhere in brush, nowhere near deer. Angry that nocturnal did not light. Didn't spook them too bad, I was in my blind by creek where my youngest son fishes quite a bit. Waited and then tried to look for arrow about a half hour later, heard another deer blowing. Decided to come up to house and cut my losses. I have a cough but it didn't seem to bother the deer. Movement is really good. Hope to hit my stand this afternoon.

Hunted this little area several opening days. First time I've ever seen a buck here. Small 6 followed by 8 and another 6. Go figure.

Reading all these posts about guys seeing all these deer makes me want to take off work (not an option) the next two days and live in my stand... I feel like I'm missing all the good stuff.. I killed my first one Oct. 5 last year on my second sit of the season so I'm not to concerned but the weather is A LOT cooler today that it was opening day last year IMO

Good luck to all my fellow hunters. Don't forget to wear your harness. Aim small, miss small. I'll be out first thing Saturday morning.

Watched 5 does for a while. Then looked up and had one trotting toward me it turned had blood running down its side. Hour has gone by and no one has came by looking for it. Just drove around and haven't found anyone parked. Still no one came through to look so took the trail up followed it for couple hundred yards after I last seen her go by corner of our corn and neighbors corner of corn our and it stopped on a trail in the woods. Circled around some and never seen anything or jumped anything. I betting it was someone trespassing. This spot I have the most amount of trouble with trespassers. So if anyone knows someone in north western Hancock county that drew blood this morning I can tell them were to look. I would keep looking but gotta get back in the fields

Wind was brutal but did see 11 from tree. 4 does and 7 yearlings. Only thing close was a doe with 2 yearlings and they both took turns nursing about every 20 minute's. All were in a hay field that joins a small corn field I planted. (Hunting on the edge of corn.) Deer seemed content to feed in middle of hay field until about 9 then all slipped into the woods. Be back out this evening but rest of weekend doesn't look promising. Forecast is rain starting tomorrow around noon all the way through Sunday.

You must be looking at a different forecast than the one I use. Mine says dry Friday afternoon, slight chance Sat. Morning, 50% chance Sat afternoon, and slight chance Sunday. Just checked it 10 minutes ago.

I hope it doesn't as well, but that was Cinn. station this morning. This hurricane/tropical storm that is moving up east coast is supposed to push rain into the Ohio Valley??? (Just the messenger MET.) They did say to stay tuned as if the track of the storm moved that we could get more or less rain depending which way it goes. I know the weather channel forecast is completely different than what Cinn., said this morning. Time will tell.
