Due to a very unusual injury, I haven't been able to hunt with my compound for more than a decade. My 72 pound draw bow I can pull all of once, and my 65 pound draw bow I can shoot about 3 times and my arm will allow no more.
I am looking at a Parker Black Eagle that ranges from 50 to 60 pound draw with 70% let off. My thinking is a lighter draw weight with a high let off will allow me to get back in the vertical bow game. Trust me, my nerves and stress level could really use the therapy.
The price is quite reasonable, it advertises 310 fps, and I have a dealer right here in town.
Does anybody have any experience with Parker compound bows they would like to share?
Well, that was an interesting couple of hours......
I went by my local archery shop after work to drop off the sign for my next hunter ed class and ask about the Parker Black Eagle. He didn't seem real thrilled about my choice even though he is a Parker dealer.
He pulled a Diamond Infinite Edge off the shelf and had me try it out. Compared to my old bows, this thing is 1/3 shorter and it kinda made me feel like I was shooting a kids bow. I shot is about a dozen times with no glaring issues from the elbow. I did have a little bout of a nagging pain about an hour later.
I did end up buying it, a release (didn't use one with my old bows), and some arrows. The package price started off $30 over the Parker, but ended up including the rest of the accessories the Parker didn't come with to make it completely shoot ready.
I know Bowtech seems to be a pretty big name in the hunting show world so I'm hoping their Dimond brand lives up to the hype.
I have it set a 55# so now I need to shuffle through all the available information and choose a broadhead to match.
