I couldn't find one camera today, but the strap was still on the tree. I looked all around. I'm more than capable of forgetting something everyday and do. I don't think I missed much, not one deer on the other cameras in 6 weeks.

If the strap is still there, I'm guessing someone snatched it unfortunately.

If the strap is still there, I'm guessing someone snatched it unfortunately. Yes sir, but I'd rather think that I lost it. It's easy to get angry and bitter over things like this, and it's best that I just figure that I forgot where I put it or give it to someone who might have it. I still have two more, so I probably should have given it away anyway.

I'd rather not have had them stolen but I put myself in this situation. I would MUCH rather be the one being stolen from than the one doing the stealing. I also believe in Karma...

Oh, I can't imagine anyone taking the other two. I moved them to the top land facing my food plot. I even camouflaged them to not stick out so strangely to the deer. Someone here, did a really nice job of camouflaging theirs; they were really cool. Mine look like, well, like I did it.

I've been screwing mine to the tree's with 3-1/2" wood screws with square drive heads with a cordless impact drill for years. Ultimately if they want it their going to get it but I sure make it tough on them to do so. Haven't had any issues after starting this. Sucks to have to go thru such extreme measures to protect your stuff from the low life bottom feeders that lurk in your woods ready to Trespass if given the opportunity.

I still haven't found this camera. I sure wanted to think that I forgot where I put it; this is very possible for me. I won't look anymore this season as I'm staying out of my woods now.

Had one stolen that was in a metal box with a python cable lock around the tree. Everything was gone, cable and all. If they want it, they'll take it.
I put a note on my laddestand at the top, saying that there is a camera hidden that is aimed at the stand, so they should smile as they take the stand. Stand as never touched.....

It is sad to say that in this society as it stands now there are people out there who will steal. As for putting python locks and the like on game camera's I have 1 camera and use a python lock on it and have found out the only thing that a python lock does is keeps the honest thieves from taking it. Have had a couple of pictures with guys walking by the camera which if they didn't see it, I will never know.
I am also in the line of thinking that if you have one that is password protected then that is just that much more of a deterrent, however how do they know this if they don't take it?

All mine are on mounts 6 foot in a tree angled down, with python cable locks and padlocks. Ive seen a trend that the deer dont see or often hear them when they are that high up, people tend to walk by without noticebas well.
If someone wants them, they will still get them, but so far thats been a pretty decent deterrent.
Likewise, my stands are always locked to the tree with 5/8 cable and padlock. If possible i lock my groundblind to a tree as well.
So far i havent lost anything, but it will eventually happen.

Jon unfortunately I'm in the same boat after this past year. I have one that I know what tree it was on but when I went to collect all my cameras this winter, one of the 4 was missing. I'm "uncertain" as to whether I took it down earlier in the fall (which I'd like to believe) or if someone has taken it. I did have an issue with a couple trespassers this past fall and if someone took it, they would be my top suspect but I can't prove anything unfortunately.. so I'm going to assume I misplaced it.

I never did find mine, but with my memory, I hate to blame someone. I know this wasn't one that I gave away, but for some unknown reason, I may have tossed it in my hunting closet, and it could get lost in there. LOL
If someone took it, I want to officially give it to them. They probably needed it more than I did.

Now if you'll excuse me I've got this slightly used camera I want to sell on e-bay.
