How many of you are planning on Turkey hunting this Fall ? For those of you that are going to Turkey hunt this Fall are you going to use calls or just set up in a feeding or travel route ?

I don't turkey hunt in the fall, but if one wants to walk by and commit suicide, I will be ready.

Purrs and clucks sometimes work in the fall. Sometimes you can call in a flock.

I'm not planning on buying a license, but if I happen to see some in my new handicap area, I'll buy a license and hope to see them again. However, Atterbury restricts fall turkey to bow. Not totally sure where to shoot one with a bow.

Travel route/feeding area. I never use a call for fall birds. Usually wait for shotgun to come in before going. Did get one with crossbow last year though.

Won't bother 'till gun season comes in so last minute decision for me - depends on how the deer hunting has been up till then and what I'm seeing as far as birds in Brown Co.

Only if opportunity arises. No calls. Gun only.

I have killed one every year that we have had a fall season but it was them walking by while I was deer hunting. I prefer to shoot hens since We have so many down there.

That's great that you gotten one every fall season. I've never shot one, but it would seem like something that I would see when I wasn't hunting for it.

I always see a lot of Turkeys each fall sometimes several flocks per day. I have been seeing a lot of poults this summer.

Even though Warrick county has fall gun season for turkeys I don't hunt them then. They are a target of opportunity during the archery season. If one comes by my stand during archery season they get to ride home with me.. My luck on that is I killed and 1 missed. I shot it for a short 30 and it was a LONG 30. I sure made him hop though.. My taxidermist said that fall turkeys are difficult to mount because of loose pin feathers?

I'll be bow hunting deer so I will buy a license for both. I have about 25 turkeys on my property regularly that have a death wish so as I sit it my stand waiting on Mr.TallAndCocky Buck to walk through I will be keeping a close eye out for a nice turkey to present itself as well. And hopefully can get it all on film! I have never take. A turkey with my bow and hear it's about the hardest way to get one but they don't seem to be too shy so maybe I'll get lucky with one!
