I've always liked seeing pics of nice 6 pointers. I have always said I would love to take one, but I've never seen one while hunting, nor have I ever had a trail cam pic of one...until today. I pulled my cards on my place today and there he was. He is no monster 6 pointer, but he is a nice one. He looks like he could be a 3 year old to me (2 at least), but I am not a great judge of age and I don't card them. Here is the pic. I would shoot this deer for sure, just because he would be a unique trophy for me (and he would eat good ) I just wondered, are there any other 6 pointer fans out there? Obviously, the deer in my pic wouldn't score squat, but who else would shoot him?

Yep - I have a thing for good 6's as well; rather have that than an 8. If I had a 3.5yr old 6 & 8 together with similarly shaped racks I'm shooting the 6.

I've killed a few over the years. Mostly quite some time back. A farm I hunted in Illinois was over run by six pointers. I killed this one in the middle of a big CRP field. I had seen him a week before at 250 yards and thought he was a big eight because of the upswept beams. .

Love that buck, Woody. To me, those are more rare than 150" 10 pointers.

I'd pass yours Met, just because where I started hunting basket rack 6 & 8 were the norm. I have my share. In the other hand any given day I may change my mind :-)
Now if it ends up looking like the one on Woodys wall...I would have to take a crack.
It was my last year or two hunting in the Frankton area I struggled not shooting a spike. He was not the ordinary spike had probably minimum of 12" spikes with an impressive spread. He tempted me several times that year. Probably turned into a real bruiser.

Inches are inches.....6 point or 10. Beam length and mass being relatively equal a 125" 6 might impress as much as a140" 8 or a 155" 10.

My dad missed one at twenty yards years ago at atterbury when you could only bow hunt on the state side. Told me it had at least a 25" spread and 16-20" times. He said he shot about 3 foot over his back. Hunted that deer all year and never seen it again. There used to be some huge deer move over to the state side once they started hunting the military side.
