BEER! Well it is temporary anyway. LOL. It depends what the pains are. I find when my joints hurt, I can trace it back to my diet. Extra salt intake and overall junk food are the worst for me. When I get on a health kick and excercise, I feel a thousand times better. Have you been to a doctor to make sure all your numbers are in line? At least make sure you dont have a serious condition. Just saying. Good luck. By the way, Aleve works pretty good.

Medicine is forst choice. Acupuncture, pt, chiropractor, exercise(walk), ice, electric stimulator
Those are in no particular order or effectiveness. I find they all work temporarily to some degree.
I have essentially stopped drinking beer due to my back...I should try it again :-)

I have essentially stopped drinking beer due to my back...I should try it again :-) I tried going to chiropractor And he pushed a couple spots on me wanted to see me twice a week for eight weeks and we'd go from there. I can't afford that... My main problem is always financially related when it comes to alternative treatments so far

Man, I feel for you guys..
The only chronic pain that I have had was sciatica.
It was so bad my wife had to help me put on my pants and socks...and she hates feet. It about killed me walking into my treestand. Climbing the ladder wasn't too bad, but that walking and up and down hills was a killer. You know it was bad when I flat quit hunting until I could see a doctor.
I ended up going for two steroid epidurals. The first one took care of the problem about 80%. The second one gave me complete relief. That was almost three years ago. Thank the good Lord it worked for me as some get them and get no relief at all.
Prayers for all that are suffering...

If you haven't been to a brain and spine doctor to find out what the cause is, DO NOT go to a chiropractor. They can end up doing more damage than you already have. The X-ray that they give you will only tell problems with the vertebrae not nerve or disc problems.
If it is muscle related, exercise and stretching will help loosen muscles. You need to concentrate on core excersizes and strengthen the muscles in your stomach and back. You can also get a tens stimulator off of eBay for around $30. They work great for muscle but not for nerve. You can try cortisone injection but they only hide the problem. Some people have great relief for quite awhile others maybe days. Next step would be surgery to fix and ruptured discs in there or pinched nerves. After that your only option is a spinal cord stimulator. Extremely pricy, insurance doesn't like to cover it, and a successful operation is 10% relief.
I've been through them all. Have to go back for yet another surgery for my stimulator because the leads moved. It's a never ending battle sometimes. As long as there isn't any permanent damage in there the outlook is good. You have to get to a doctor that knows what he's doing though. Family doctor isn't what you are looking for.
If you want I can give you some great spine doctors names. Lord knows I've dealt with enough of them.

I actually haven't found any pain relieving medication to do much including aleve or advil or Tylenol or aspirin The only thing that might help is something with naproxen in it. Naproxen is an anti inflammatory.

nfalls116, regardless of what others here suggest, you really need to make an appointment with your regular family Doctor. Chronic pain may indicate a more serious medical situation. The fact you are posting this on a forum sounds like it's really an issue with you.

I saw a Dr a couple weeks ago for some pains that ibuprofen wasn't touching. Prescribed some once a day anti inflammatory meds and seem to be working pretty nicely. I hate meds though, took me about a week to even start, probably stop them soon and see how it goes.

That's the kind of stuff my aches and pains come from I go to the doctors and they prescribe me a hand full of pills take This one every 4 hours take this one every 6 hours take this one when you wake up and before you go to bed all with side effects that I feel are much more of an issue than my aches and pains I am really just looking for a more internal organ friendly approach

I have no pain. Well, nothing to complain about. I can't imagine what it would be like, because I have a low tolerance for it.
