With the wet spring and now wet early summer it could equate to some monster buck's this fall?? Time will tell but in the past it seems wet weather equates to larger buck's as the deer have more vegetation to feed on earlier. So as a big pain it is to deal with it could be a good thing. Hopefully it doesn't just turn dry and if rain continues into late summer we could see very little if any EHD as well. (Another benefit).

Not only more vegetation but many biologists claim that the extra moisture allows plants and such to absorb or collect more minerals/nutrients from the ground....making the plants themselves more rich in vitamins/minerals, a deer's primary source for such things.
Is it going to take a P&Y and make them a booner, um no. However, it could add a inch or two and a little more mass...if nothing else fawn survival should be higher because does have a lot more access to nutrient high foods with hardly any stress of the normal heat and dry conditions we usually have.

I have always believed that above average moisture equated to larger antlers.

I have always believed above average age equates to larger antlers. Let them get some age on them and you will see bigger antlers.

I was also thinking that all this rain means less chance of another EHD outbreak. Isn't that true? Looking for silver linings.

Creeks and streams are well flushed out at this point. LOL But the rain can stop and things can dry up in a hurry. The key months are Aug and Sept. Hopefully we get a break this year.

Every buck with increase in mass, tines or length each year no matter genetics....but genetics will make the greatest impact.

Well if it is true we should have a bunch of big one's running around this year. Just got another inch this afternoon..... wettest June and sure to be wettest July in Indiana history book's. In my 52 year's have never seen a summer so wet.

I would love the rain if it caused everyday to be 65°

I haven't seen a single buck on my trail cams this year, but I'm not feeding this year. I'm thinking this is going to be a good year, but I refuse to believe anything else ever. LOL

LOL they are just walking on the back side of your cams! I wish, but they'd have to climb over the tree to miss them. I have 3 out now. I'm not worried though. The adjacent fields have beans this year; corn is southeast 1/4 mile. I'm curious to pattern them with this configuration and remember it, but again, I can't remember what I had for breakfast.

It all depends on how wet it is.. I doubt I will get bigger bucks when I have had 16 feet of water sitting on my land for more than a month..
