I didn't expect we'd be number 1 but thought we would be higher than we are.

So looking at that IDNR one would think we would see a decrease in need for antlerless harvest? ?

I didn't expect we'd be number 1 but thought we would be higher than we are. We probably would have been it wasn't for the fine job the DNR did in reducing the deer herd to make everybody happy including the insurance companies. The state of Michigan's accidents will be reduced shortly with the help of their new deer biologist.

Been addressed before but I will say again. (I own an insurance agency by the way). Insurance companies as a group really could care less about deer claims. Rates are based on loss experience period. Having claims, they will pass rate onto customer's. (So they make their money regardless.) Hunter's shoot the deer not IDNR nor insurance companies. Just because IDNR set's antlerless bonus limit's and season's doesn't mean hunter's have to participate.

Article is dated October of 2010, wonder how 2014 stats would compare to those?

If you want to reduce deer collisions, greatly reduce speed in high deer areas.

If you want to reduce deer collisions, greatly reduce speed in high deer areas. Yep.. The only vehicle deer collision I've had was going hunting one morning. I saw a deer standing beside the road so I slowed way down and BANG a deer from the other side of the road ran into the side of my truck....

Those crossbows are so evil they cause deer to commit suicide. :-)
