I thought it was neat. I've been wanting to put up a camera on public land. Not a lot of foot presence back in some of these areas for handicap. It would be a cheap one and I'd do something like this to camo it.

Bend the end of these so they are an L shape instead of a hook and the threaded camera mount hole slides right over them. www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-6-Zinc-Plated-Hook-15-Piece-per-Pack-803272/204273853There's even some straight ones that are 1/4 20 on one end and wood screw on the other and you can screw it straight in to a downed log or cut a pole and screw it right in the end of the stick and shove it in the ground.

I've been using them for 2 years now and they are awesome. Some trees are tough to get them into, but I just bring a drill with me to drill a pilot hole.

Ended up costing me a little over $2 a piece, but I made up several. Used them on 3 of the cameras I put up today. They were nice to have because one camera is about 7' off the ground and it adjusted easily. The other was on a tree that the strap i had wouldnt fit around.
