Bump for tick season.....The concentrate makes a BUNCH of spray. When I set up my turkey blind I spray all inside it and up the walls aways .. inside and out.
If you don't the blind is a tick incubator and really draws them..

My work gives us an allowance to have our clothes treated by a company called insectshield. Supposed to be good for 70 washes. Cost about $8.00 per item in bulk. Returned to me within 2 weeks. Worked great for me last year. They use permethrin as well. www.insectshield.com

After a day in the woods my grandson and I are tick free. Took a bottle of the 10% permethrin from TSC and mixed one ounce with twenty parts water. Sprayed everything including boots. Works great. Every time I had an itch I didn't think it was a tick. LOL! And it wasn't

That stuff is the best! I just returned home with a new bottle and I'm taking mine and the Mrs. turkey clothes to barn now to lather them up!

Give them 12 hours plus to dry. A wonderful aroma too! LOL! The aroma does wear off but even if it didn't I am good with that. It works. Jonah picked one off his jacket in the death throes. Yep it works

My head hurts trying to find the math for .5%. I'm mixing half gallon. How many Oz's I need. I usually mix it stronger just seeing how much I'm wasting.

My head hurts trying to find the math for .5%. I'm mixing half gallon. How many Oz's I need. I usually mix it stronger just seeing how much I'm wasting. My math says 1 ounce 10% permerthin and 20 ounces water. So a gallon is 128 ounces and a half gallon is 64 ounces. 64 divided by 20 equals 3.2. My guess is 3.2 ounces per half gallon. And I emphasize " my guess". Close enough for hand grenades and it won't kill you.....Good luck. If you die please don't sue me.......

Word of caution. DO NOT put a shirt on that is still damp from spraying. Sprayed my clothe this morning and went to work. Boss gave me the day off so I ran home and threw my camp on and ran out the door. I am into my third shower soon headed for my fourth. Feels like I have a massive sun burn all over my back and chest. Lesson learned.

Yeah it has a BIG warning about skin contact and breathing it.
If you start feeling real bad I head to ER ... Wouldn't chance it with this stuff ...IMO

Been about 7 hours. Heat is still there a bit but pretty much got it down to one spot on my stomach. I mixed it about 20%. The tick med I used to put on my dog is 45%. Can't imagine after this episode I'll be putting that stuff on them anymore. I've gotten it on my skin before but I guess not in as concentrated amount and not the coverage and for the length of time. I've read up on it a bit. The manufacturer recommends dawn dish washing liquid. I guess something in it immediately dilutes the stuff or something. Of course we have none at the house but a bar of dial soap did the trick.

I messed up last night and spayed my clothes for my Friday hunt and didn't open the garage doors. Had a window open and my side door and figured that would be good. WRONG....later that night my eyes were burning and had to flush them out. I'M good today, but my throat feels a little raw. Dang..I didn't spray that much on my clothes and I used Repel that has permerthin in it. Next time it will be totally outside when I spray them. Now a little worried about putting them on in the morning without putting a layer of clothes on underneath them to protect my skin. Thinking if I start sweating, it might not be good to have those clothes against my skin.

I've never had a problem using the .5% stuff - either commercial or my home made stuff. I have sprayed it directly on my clothes that I have on. I did that when I set my blinds last week.

My guess the problem was. 5% and 30+% is where I ran into the problem and the clothe was still wet. Never had a problem before but it was already dry. As far as sweating, wouldn't worry about that.
