Are any of you guys, or do you know of any disabled hunters?
I'm concerned that my vehicle might be more of a deterrent than help to me. Does anyone have experience legally hunting from a vehicle?

My dad could get the permit if he wanted but never has ..... what is your concerns? Wondering if deer will spook from the sight if a parked vehicle?

I'm practically disabled---but not legally! I would think in some places a vehicle could be an advantage. In my experience not all deer spook at them, especially where they've seen them before. It's when they stop moving (when they already are) or the door opens or something. That is not always true though. I killed one ancient doe who was spooked by the landowners car starting 100 yards away and out of sight! Now that is a spooky deer. Unfortunately she ran toward me. It would naturally limit your options as to where you could go I 'spose.

Well, I guess my concern is that seeing my vehicle parked would draw their attention. Of course I'll have camo on, but my truck is black, maybe I should wear black.
I guess I'm concerned, because I haven't seen or heard a turkey since the season started. I saw a bearded lady the day before and she just got out of the way, but I was moving.
I guess I wanted to know if anyone has any legal experience, or if it's illegal, just say that you know a guy. LOL
If I had a side by side, I'd back it into some brush, but donkey (Tahoe) is a little big to hide.
I was hoping that the decoys would draw any attention away from me, but it's as if they have all left the state. I did hear 6 shots opening day, so some got shot or they were shooting with their eyes closed.

How deer react to it will vary from deer to deer and day to day. If a buck has love on his mind you could likely breakdance on the hood and he won't notice....his date on the other hand might freak at the mere sight of a truck from 500 yards away.

People shoot em from the road all the time Tahoe's pintos and great big f350s all with the same luck I don't think it's your vehicle but more where ya park it...? So, in closing just park on the road and hunt from there problem eleminated.
But in all seeiousness if they don't see your vehicle there often then they will steer away from it more often then not
Are you hunting on private land?

Yes, I saw a monster trophy of a buck standing in the middle of a state highway in rut one year. I'm sure someone has him on their wall now. Oh, the things we all do for love.

No Sir, I'm hunting the handicap areas in the state forests. They should be somewhat use to trucks. This turkey season has given me opportunities to travel every ridge in Yellowwood, but I'd like to expand a bit. One day my buddy was hunting his property, and someone shot a doe from their truck. It died just in front of his blind. They didn't even come after it. He took one that year without firing a shot.

Well that's to bad if it was private you could make a "blind" to hide it in. Is putting a camp net over it out of the question?

All I need is for someone to take me. I have the truck, boat, decoys and duck gun. I do have some of those nets, and that's actually a good idea; it wouldn't hurt anything to use it. I've been trying to park my truck where the turkey would see my decoys first. I won't need much time to shoot that bobbing head. I appreciate the help and humor!

I do like the camo trim especially on a black truck. I am going to try the netting. I have an old ATV now, so I may wonder away from ol' Donkey. However, I also bought a big air mattress to put in the back with the seats down. Now I can really lounge while hunting and shoot something out the back window. Now this is handicap hunting!
