My family used to shoot penned hogs every fall down on the old home place in the East Tennessee mountains. Guess it got in my blood. Hopefully it's out of my system...but I suppose I will always be a recovering high fence hunter.
Like alcoholism, you are never "cured", you just take it one day at a time.

Yeah there just like a "WILD" hog......I am guessing Met may not be the only one that has shot penned hogs!!! Well if it's really any of your business. The ranch I hunted in Texas also trapped and removed hogs that were going to hunting operations. I seen them in the transportation pens. They weren't happy or friendly beast. Once again. Like to see you grab ahold of one. After all you said there tame. And you really believe the Hog he shot in TEN was from Tex and of the same breed???

The hog I shot was Russian.
I know this from the vodka on his breath. I could smell it when he licked my hand.

I watched a show once with the young girls holding down the pigs when the dogs would catch them. Those girls were tough. I only saw it once; mountain monsters must have drawn my attention away from the pigs. Bigfoots are open range.
I still think it's black socks and sneakers.

"Hooves up, don't shoot" and being the dastardly pen Hunter you are you shot him anyway...probably in the back too....

Feeders not needed when there Tame and in a fence... You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I hunted the same place and the hog my buddy shot killed two dogs, another had to be put down and me and the guide had to stich another that was cut from stem to stern.

When we went the pigs were trapped right outside of the fence and put inside the fence.

I do know a lot of those places buy wild hogs that people have trapped outside of the preserve. That doesn't make them any more tame or less mean, just takes away their ability to escape. I'm not sure about Met's boar though.. it kind of looks like a cross between a gremlin and a lawn gnome

I personally had to hold a dog down while we put over 100 stitches in it. The other dog had his stomach ripped open from his front shoulder to his hind leg, intestines hanging out. Tame? Sure. Why was I using dogs? I'm a houndman through and through. I'll hunt anything behind a pack of dogs. There isn't an animal in the U.S. that can be hunted behind hounds I haven't tried. Course I'm sure that's unsporting also and makes me less of an outdoorsman.

When we went the pigs were trapped right outside of the fence and put inside the fence. Then settle it for us.. Were they Russisn or French pigs? Neither. Just mean old wild pigs. They do have several areas to hunt. We hunted the largest one that most guys don't get to hunt. Those are the trapped pigs that are released. Most hunt the area right by the camp. I had a good buddy that ran his dogs in there to give them more time on hogs, that's why we hunted where we did.
