I thought I saw a high fence there. It was really, really long. The man who talked to us before we were allowed to hunt told us it went around the whole property. I am glad to know that it's not a high fence place. I certainly wasn't trying to start rumors. If I ever go back there I will find that man and tell him he got me in trouble and that he should make sure he tells people that just because there is a high fence doesn't make it high fence. Oh, and I like the part about the tags in the ears. I wish the hog I shot would have had a tag in his ear. Maybe, if he had, I might have had the good sense not to shoot him.
Thanks again for straightening me out. I've learned so much today! Don't forget to tell me what you want me to do with this tainted hog mount. I want to make this right!

Here he is, Jon. I realize he is "tainted" but I still think he is cute. Even if "tainted" he sure has a nice little smile. Lol Cool mount Met.

Did you eat any of that hog? I always wondered what they'd taste like ...chicken???
I'm serious, I'd really like to have one. How much was this hunt? I try not to drive through Kentucky, but I would for a hog hunt or hog killing.
I watched mountain monsters again, and I think that last bigfoot is a real hunter. He chased it down and broke its neck; now this is hunting ...naked, barefoot and without a sharp stick. I'd at least want a sharp stick.

There isn't anything wrong with the meat. Makes great sausage.

It was good eating. This was 6 or 7 years ago and the package cost around $650 back then. That was for 3 days and included 2 nights lodging and meals. For that money you could take one hog which they butchered for you. I went with 2 friends. We each killed a hog a piece. They decided to pay extra and they each took a Barbarossa Ram (which made gorgeous mounts). I opted just for the hog. I tagged along with them and filmed their kills. Glad I did pass, I'm not sure I could live with the guilt of having killed another tainted animal that week. At least now I can count myself as better than them since I only have one dishonorable mount and they have two.

I don't think that's a bad price at all. Could a person go as a single? This would be the only way I could ever get a ram. I'm not sure that I could have hunted them as a young fella.

I'm sure you could go as a single. The lodging was very nice and the meals were good too. It's a very nice operation, even if they do provide a slimy, immoral service. I guess it's like saying it's a real nice cathouse.

I found their webpage. That's an awesome cabin on their home page.
I did find a nice outfitter in upper Wisconsin by Lake Superior. Open range hunting at a fair price, but I've heard wolves are getting bad up there. Met one fella from up there and he said, it took him 3 hours to get to his shot deer and the wolves had already had their way with it.

That nice cabin is where we stayed. It is a great place to stay if you can get past the sickening pall of shame that hangs around the place. Just try not to look anyone directly in the eyes...

Jon, there are also a ton of high success free range hunts you could do. A highly mobile guy can hunt them on public land down south for next to nothing. There are also lots of outfitters who offer hog hunts over feeders on private land for that kind of money (and less) for those who can't get around as well as they used to.

Oh, I have no hunting (killing) shame! I'll sleep just fine. It's just a matter of time and I'll be tainted myself.

I can't walk far anymore, but think a lot of these places will take one to a spot on an ATV. Cheaper is always better; I'm on a fixed budget now. I saw that some places give price breaks at certain times of the year. If I ever get a windfall of money, I'll go all across the country killing those baited animals.

That's very true. I felt weird shooting my boar after it came up and licked my hand. Oh well, we live and learn, I suppose.

When the motion detector goes off, I'll wake up, pull my feet off the dashboard, adjust my pillow, roll up the sleeves on my smoking jacket and take aim. If lunch time, I'll just put down my sandwich. Even though I did lay in a creek bed until I got cramps when I shot my first buck, I'm just a seasonal killer. ...and a happy man.

Well if it's really any of your business. The ranch I hunted in Texas also trapped and removed hogs that were going to hunting operations. I seen them in the transportation pens. They weren't happy or friendly beast. Once again. Like to see you grab ahold of one. After all you said there tame.
