Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances, Rock, my English Pointer, somehow popped the latch on his kennel while we were on vacation last week. He's been gone since Friday morning. Many miles and hours of searching, Craigslist and Facebook, cops and mailmen, shelter and rescue visits, notices and phone calls, etc have not produced any results. My number is stamped on his collar. If anyone near south Indy might have info that is helpful regarding possible sightings, please PM me here. As a reminder, this is what Rock looks like:

Hate to say it but with all your info on his collar my guess would be someone took him while you where on VAC.
Usually dogs like this don't just come up missing.....good luck hope you find him!!!
BTW....I have posted this on some other site's for you hope you don't mind.

This makes me sick to think of all the time and love that went into training this dog only to have him come up missing. I am with Greg on this, someone may have stole him.

I am sorry to hear this. I hope he turns up soon. If you haven't already, you might consider offering a reward with "no questions asked." Cannot hurt. Years ago when I had coonhounds occasionally I lost one or two. Eventually they all ended up being returned. I hope the same is true for Rock.

I'll sure keep my eyes open. I'm so sorry to hear this; this hurts like a run away kid. Have you checked the Johnson County animal control? They will call though.

Any word HC on the dog Thanks for the inquiry saltydog. No success on Rock! I've exhausted all the resources I can think of and nothing. I checked the Marion County shelter again today off Harding street. Nothing today. That was an eye opener the first visit last week. I would say that if they have 200 kennels for lost dogs, at least 70% were pit bull or pit bull mix. I'm not into pit bulls, but it's a bit gut wrenching to see so many of one breed in such a predicament. I hit the Johnson County shelter twice last week. So for now, we continues to search, pray, wait, hope and consider our options for the future.

That is too bad. Bad enough to loose a dog (or get stolen), but even worse to loose a good one!! I shared Woody's Facebook post of this happening.
