I've never found one, but this should come as no surprise to anyone. Do they drop off anywhere or do they usually knock them off along a tree line, field, deep woods???

Hi Woody!
I'm so happy to be back. I have not been well, but my computer crashed. I finally found a scratch and dent, Easter clearance sale to buy a computer. I'm a poor man. LOL
I'm on medical leave now, and will never go back to work. My doctor told me to apply for SS disability. This was extremely difficult for me to accept. I actually cried in his office. It was a disgrace to me. From a youth, it's all I've known. Also, in our generation, the worst thing a person could be was one who didn't work. It was a shame to take money from the government.
I'm sure that I've paid in more than they'll ever give me back as I won't live a long life, but my money is long gone. Still, it didn't set well with me. I feel like the last fiber of pride has been ripped from me.
I'll never know, but I think the heart damage alone would not have been enough to stop me working, but the fatigue is brutal. I have suffered for years with chronic fatigue. My doctor has told me that I'm anemic, have an underactive thyroid, low testosterone, sleep apnea, but all these have been addressed with meds and cpap. Still the fatigue plagued me, and then the heart damage.
After a month of thinking about it, I have finally started to look at the positives. I'll do more work for the Lord, and piddle around the house. I can't do much at one time, but I can rest when I want now.

John,
You and I both know that God saved you from that horrendous heart attack for a reason. He will show you what it is and you will do it.. Just being an inspiration on here is a lot.
God be with you...

God be with you... Absolutely Woody; He has His purpose for it, and I accept this. I've thought much about it. I have a friend who lost both legs and his right arm in Vietnam. In his spiritual walk, I wanted him to get to a place where he was thankful for the disability. He's not there yet. But my thinking is that if God has allowed it, He has a plan for it, and being thankful for it would show great faith and surrender. Well, I guess I was talking to myself and didn't know it at the time. I am thankful and am starting to see the purpose, but believe that many things are still to come. I have to admit that the shame of not being able to work was so great that I wished that I had not survived the heart attack. Mentally it was tough to accept. I now see many positives. The thing that's tough now is feeling guilty about enjoying being off work. LOL My doctor got me a disability hunting permit, and I'm excited about using it. ...and yes, I'm so happy to be back on HI. I'll spend a lot of time catching up on everyone's harvest.

There are bucks still trolling around the feeder on the live Crush Cam with headgear still attached. I have not seen any antlers on any deer I have seen along the road for about a month, but they may have been all does.

Have you found more in the fields or woods. I'd like to find one someday. I saw a hunting show that was taking place late in the season, and the antlers fell off as the fella was posing for the photo.

I have yet to go out purposely to shed hunt. I have found a few while mushroom hunting.
I hear that a buck's main bedding area is the best place to find them. Creek and fence crossings would probably be good places to look as the jarring may cause them to fall off when they are ready.

I've found 24 so far. Most of those were found last weekend. Best year I've ever had. Still have 3 or 4 spots I haven't walked yet Trophy Paradise Habitat Consulting "Trophies are built from the ground up" www.facebook.com/trophyparadise

I walked my place a couple Saturdays ago. Didn't find any but there was still snow on the ground so I wasn't really expecting to. More of a scouting expedition then anything. I did see one buck still carrying his head gear though.

My father, cousin and myself went out looking about a week ago for about 2 hours and found zilch. Walked all the main trails and found some new trails didn't know was there. The melting of the snow helped show the trails that were hidden within the tall grass since there was no snow on the grass. I don't know where they could be. I will likely try again this week, if nothing then I am going to turn my attention to finding new prospects for tree stand placements as well as crappie fishing.
God bless
