Congrats to the kid for sure .But I wonder how long until the other shoe falls???I mean if in most states you shoot a farmers live stock you usually end up paying for that animal after the court trial.. Since he knew it was the deer that had escaped and saw the tag then he knew it was live stock and nothing more .I wonder if there was a shoot on site order by the ODNR?
If anything shakes out over it eventually it will be interesting to see how it turns out .

If memory serves me, the guy down in Peru, IN tried to use the livestock defense when he got charged with drugging deer for high fenced hunts and the court ruled against it basically saying that deer are classified as wild game and falls under the authority of DNR. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. |

Also it is why you have to have a deer tag to hunt in a fence.
