I always see guys on here showing pics of bobcats on their trailcams, but I have never heard of them being around here in Hamilton county. With the common sightings in southern Indiana, I figured it was just a matter of time before they made their appearance closer to Indy. Our area is known for it's highly dense population of coyotes..see them everywhere and hear them all the time.. never bobcats. It's awesome to see these elusive animals are doing well all across the state. www.theindychannel.com/news/local-news/bobcat-sightings-up-in-parts-of-indiana

We had one on our trail camera a few years back. I've had a couple sightings the last couple years.
Neat critters...
I REALLY like cats so I doubt I would shoot one even if legal..
Also momma would peal my head if I ever shot a cat of any kind...

Haha.. I like my dog, but it doesn't stop me from popping a coyote when I get the chance I saw my first about 3-4 years ago; been seeing them regularly since then. I'd love to have a season open up for them.

I'm getting regular pictures of them this year. Had one walk by me and my daughter while we were in a ground blind a couple of weeks ago. Jut today I found tracks going across the porch of an empty house next to us on my Dads property. He got a trail cam picture of one in his yard a short while ago.

We had one on a last trail cam card, they are neat to see but they're turkey killing machines. When the season does open I'll shoot 'em without a second thought!

Seen 2 up at buddies property in Pike county. one of them was large so I am guessing was a female. A couple days later saw a smaller one. but that was last week when we saw them.

Pulled the cameras from the neighbor's barn that I try to keep an eye out for trespassers and thieves. Back in October I have a set of pictures of a little bobcat that looks like was very successful at hunting. The poor thing looked so fat that he could barely waddle past the camera.

I am with you tomthreetoes, in the past five years since regular sightings on the trail cams of multiple cats (the land owner that borders the southern property line of the farm I hunt has a pic of a female with 4 kits in it). Our turkey in the area have diminished easily by 2/3rds. In the same place on any givin day in the spring time you could hear 10 to 20 different toms gobbling, this past spring I didnt even see a tom or hear one. My trail cam pics of turkeys of dozens of birds have dropped to just a few. Just not crazy about em being around.

After the weather we had last winter, I'm not sure I would blame any drop in animal sightings on another animal.

I agree with you firstwd, but this has been a very sharp decline over the last five years.
