Need advice purchasing a youth bow. Plenty of choices on the market, looking to put a young youth into a compound bow that will last until he is 17-18 years old. He is 9 now has been shooting the cheaper beginner bows with us and participates with us at 3 d shoots and fun shoots. It is time to move him up, have been considering the Diamond Infinite Edge, Mission Craze and the Bear Outback. Open to suggestions.Would rather spend the extra dollars and the bow last him for the next 9-10 year. The bow will also be used for deer hunting, anyone have some good advice and some experience with this type of youth bows and of course I always think about replacement parts in case of a mishap. All comments would be appreciated including a good archery shop to work with. Thanks, Geno

Even thought I shot Martin when I was using wheel bows I've always been a fan of Diamond and I'd give the Infinite Edge a long hard look.

My sons use Diamond (Razors Edge) for past 3 years. Have had no issues and I use mine for bowfishing. I am fond of Bear also, I use one for deer hunting now. (Finesse) I would let him have a say after he has held both to what he wants for such a long time period.

Thanks for the replies, It is good to see that several shooters are happy with different manufacturer bows. It can be a little intimidating just picking one off the shelf. Looks like the best option is we both go and let him shoot several brands and see which ones stand out in comfort and adjustments. Thanks for the comments

Mission has a couple of great youth bows. My son shoots the Craze and my daughter shoots the Menace. Both will last them until they are old enough to buy their own bow!

I have a Mission Riot, and really like it. I bought my son a Bear Apprentice II because it was a little cheaper and I had discounts at Dicks. I wish I would've just gone to a pro-shop and got him a Mission like I did for myself. The Bear is fine bow, but I ended up having to purchase a few things (silencers, stabilizer, peep sight, etc...) that was standard on the Mission.
It is a little deceiving to call the Mission Riot and Craze "youth bows" - "highly adjustable" would be a better term. Both of their draw lengths can be adjusted between 19" and 30", and their draw weight can be adjusted between 15lbs and 70lbs
(BTW - the Bear Apprentice II adjust between 15-27" (DL) and 20-60lbs (DW))

Thanks again for the comments, we are going to go and shoot next week. Going to try the mission craze, bowtech fuel, and diamond infinite edge. Have found a good archery shop to try these bows out and looking forward to it.
