I would have to say my 2 favorite memories are killing a buck with my muzzloader opening day with my daughter by my side and shooting a doe the next day using my .243 with my son by my side. It was a great weekend.

My favorite memory actually isn't a deer hunt, but our African hunt in Zimbabwe, in the summer of 2011. My son and I went together, and hunted together for 10 days. I was there to witness his taking of a 6,000 lb. hippo, and he backed me up with a 16 yd. shot on my tuskless cow elephant. This is my most vivid/outstanding hunting memory. We also took two cow cape buffalo. He was with me when I took mine. Unfortunately I had a leg issue and wasn't with him when he took his. I have lots of memories hunting with my son, but that trip is at the top. maddog

Long, long, long story very, very short. After not having a relationship with my father for almost twenty years and not killing a deer since reuniting with him..... calling him on Sunday to say "Buck down!" He didn't answer, haha. We had a long conversation about it later.

When I had to shoot a buck in front of the then chief ranger to get my job. I was using a 243 sako rifle, saw the buck asked me if I could do it, I said yes. Bang, buck took off at a rate of knots, I have never been so glad to see a deer go down as that one, perfect shot, got the job, 37 years ago. Lol Regards Billy
